scotchland5206 is wrong. You DO NOT need to pay before they schedule the appointment at the London US Embassy. My finace's appointment was scheduled today, as a matter of fact, and we have not yet paid the fee for the K-1 Visa. We WILL have to pay it before his date, but you do not need to pay prior to them scheduling an appointment.
