  1. Really, yeah I suppose, depending on the circumstances, but that wasn't us. Did we argue over stupid things, yup. Did we say mean things to each during argument, yup. However, at the end of day, her thing was that she felt tried of being a mother, and a wife. She says she 30 yrs old and feels like a old woman, and wants to be free and enjoy her life. I get all that, America can change people, but try to us the baby to get ahead of a situation you find yourself in now. All kind of crazy things happen in household, all you gotta do is turn on the local news. I'm trying to figure out the best way, and only the best way to get out of this mess I got myself into. So I'm not looking for a hypothetical scenarios, I'm looking for the safest and best way out for me and the baby. Period......! If help, help, but if you can't, I'll keep trying.

  2. Ok that all sounds great, but I don't think they're to many women who go through any form of abuse, and not make every effort to escape with there children, if they were ever face with a situation like that. Also in most cases, when the man is abuseive to any women, they usually don't want the children around either. However, thanks for the info.

  3. Sorry that this is happening to you but what you said here sound like a broken down relationship than fraud. People change and that's about personality. Why did she move to shelter? Are you aware of vawa claim? Often times, we hear only one side of the story. Hope you do what's best for you and your daughter and let her deal with her greencard. Some people usually use greencard to equate married life, but these are just like two parralell lines. Greencard does not make a person perfect or holy. Again, if you are trying to make her greencard difficult, she can try to help herself. Just a thought....

Hi, Thanks. No I don't know what Vawa means, maybe u can tell me. yes you are right, it was of a brake down of the marriage. She in a shelter because when she left, she moved into a room and was paying 500 a month, but she could handle it after two months. she could come back to me because my lease ran out and the landlord would not renew it. i'm staying with a family member until my new appartment is ready, and no one from my family wants her around, because of her actions, people are very upset with her, because she brought great shame to everything. i scheduled to go to court on sept 22 to get full custody of the baby. but now she knows if she has the baby she would be better off with getting assistance. very bad situation. its crazy becasue when i met this girl she lived on a refugee camp in ghana, and came here, and want so much more, and i got fustrated.

  4. I brought this girl from Africa to America, and she was pregnant with our daughter. She has been here for a little over 2 yrs. In February of this year she left the baby next store with some strangers so she can go out and have her secret love affair. Her greencard experience next year in June, because it was only a 2 yr greencard. I will never trust this women again, she has a very bad temper. She decided to leave the baby with me, and I've had the baby girl every since she left in Feb. Now she's in a shelter, and wants to get the baby so she can get housing for her and the baby she saids. She said it's here baby and all that stuff, but how could a mother bring there 1 yr old daughter outside on a cold saturday night without coat, hat, and shoes like she did, and say I'm her mother and I want my daughter? I want her out of my life. She gets high everyday, and talking to all the wrong people. What can I do? I want to call uscis, cuz I think it was fraud.

  5. Hi VG Fam, Long time but everything has been wonderful with my liberian queen, and our little baby girl. However, I have a friend who could use some help with a situation I think is serious. She meant a guy and married him, and they've been married for three years, and they have a daughter together. The guy is from Ireland, and now she wants a divorce because she found out the guy mislead her. She found out the guy in question is Gay!!

but he already had a temporary green card that's good for ten years. She doesn'twant anything to do with guy anymore, what can she do, can she cancel the AOS?

Let me know, I know there are a lot of smart people who use this site.

    Thanks guys.

  6. Hi everyone, I haven't been here in a while, but I'm here to share some great news. It was a long road but we finally made it through the tunnel. My fiance had her follow-up appointment on March 26,2012, and when she went to the embassy she brought the documents they requested her to bring on are last appointment date, which was Oct 27, 2011. On that March 26th date she had every ready to go, but they told her that her medical had expired and that she needed a new. They set a return date for June 8th, 2012, and when she told me that I was furious.....and immediately contacted my Congressmens office, they email the embassy, and the embassy called my fiance two days later and told her to come back on Friday March 30, 2012 with the new medical and her visa would be ready. They took her passport on March 26th when she went, so when she went to get her new medical exam the doctor wouldn't see her, because the embassy took her passport. I called the Congressmens office again, and she was told to come back to the embassy on Friday March 30th to get her passport back, which she did. She was told to come back on April 18, 2012 instead of June 8th, which was great. I think they were trying to stall us for some reason, because they could see that she was pregnant. When I went to Ghana for her Oct 27th interview, she got pregnant, but I didn't mine because I knew she was coming back to the states with me, WRONG!..... She will be hitting her sixth month next week around the 27th, so now I'm trying to get her out of there before she has the baby. However, things look a lot better than they did. She went to embassy Wednesday and they took her new medical report, gave her a blue paper, and told her to come back on May 18th to pick-up her visa. She'll be 7 months by the end of may, and I hope I can fly her out of there, any thoughts, will it be safe?

Thanks You Guys....This was one for the history books.

    God Is Great!!!!!

  7. HI GUYS,

I'm in Ghana with my fiance, and was hoping she would be coming back to the states with me, but this Ghana embassy has to be the worst embassy in the world. My fiance had a follow-up appointment yesterday, embassy wanted her to correct the birth date in her passport, which she did. They also requested tax transcritps from me along with phone logs, and on the 27th we gave them everything they requested. I sat outside for about 3hours waiting for her, and when came outside, she told me they wanted her to cancel out her old liberian passport. The shocking part was when they told her, they wanted proof of my sister. they have now rescheduled for another appointment on March 26,2012, why are they stalling us like this. Does anyone know if I can go and sit down with someone in this embassy, and get to the bottom of this mess. What can I do while still in Ghana?

  8. Tell your Husband to grow some Balls.....More often than not, family who are involved in other peoples marriage, will more than likely distroy what you to worked so hard to get, That's my opinion. If you two can find anyway at all to get away from those family members do it, ASAP....when I was married to my ex-wife, I quickly became married to her whole family, but I stuck it out for 12 years because we a son. It was the worse experiance of my life and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

  9. Hi All,

My Fiancé went to the embassy this morning, but they made her go back home because she forgot her appointment letter. She said the place was packed, and people had looks on their faces like they were going to heaven “USA.” She said when the lady called her to the window she asked her 2 questions, how did you met and when was the last time you seen him. When she answered, the lady told her she needed more evidence. When she told me that, I said what more evidence do they need? I sent them 3 years tax return, copies of passport with visiting stamps on 3 different occasions, travel document, a stack of Weston union receipts dated from 2008 to 2011, Photo album with photos from Ghana and Liberia, letter of intent to marry in 90 days, letter from Job with court ID badge number, Guess what they were looking for? Phone logs from 2008 to 2011, I said wow….. These people are unbelievable. They want her to come back on October 27th, but there will be a nice tall handsome phone log on that day of her interview standing outside or right beside her. I guess it’s true, if want something done you have to do it yourself. I guess things could be a lot worse though, It’s all good no worries….

  10. Hi all,

Fiancé interview is Wednesday and we have to pay the Visa fee, how should we do this?

Can she pay the $350.00 in Ghana Cedis, or would it be better to pay in U.S. dollars. If she pays it U.S. dollars will Weston union give her the equivalent amount in U.S. dollar form when she goes in to pick up the money, or will she have to add to it? Would it be a better idea to go to Eco-Bank and pay the visa fee and just hand in the receipt on the day of her interview? How confusing does all this sound, I’m trying to keep it simple.

    Thanks

  11. Let give thanks to God for everything. By His grace more positive news will be coming out this and coming years for GHANA. No need to panic and by God grace she will have everything ready before the due date. She should go to medical center with her new appointment date. Normally it take two weeks for the report to come out but due to her date they will it make express and she will have it ready before the date. For the police report she can get it the same day by adding extra money. One thing I want to bring to your notice, well am not sure the type of birth certificate she is having and if it is not the biometric one then she should go for it asap cos I heard they dont accept the previous ones lately. Good luck and I pray she will approved on the first interview by Gods grace. Praying for everyone on the long waiting to get interview dates sooner.

Thank you so.... very much for all your positive words. She is Liberian, and she already has her Liberian Birth certificate. That is the very first thing we took care of.

  12. Hello VJ family,

Today my fiancé received a call from the U.S. Embassy in Ghana, and I was as shocked as she was when she told the news. She said the embassy called her and asked her if she had all her paperwork together, and she said yes. They asked her if she would like to come in for her interview on August 17th instead of January 9th. I almost hit the floor when she told me this, GOD is great. Less than 3 months and she has an interview in 3 weeks from Ghana, :wow: that’s unbelievable. Is this normal, has it ever happen before. The only problem is she really isn’t ready, because she didn’t get her medical and she needs her police clearance certificate from Ghana which takes about 10 working days. She is going to the police station tomorrow, and she is going to call and set her medical appointment also. These are the only to things that must be done, but here’s the big question. If time isn’t on our side, will they still give her the interview pending her medical and police clearance if she goes there on the August 17th. :help:

  13. For those who dealt with the US embassy in Accra, how did you or you beneficiary get packet 3 and 4? Did you pick it up from the embassy, or did they mail it. For those who picked it up from the embassy how did you know it was ready to be picked up? Any advise will be appreciated.

Hi, I see your petition was approved on 6/30/11, Congrats. Once your petition has been approved it will go to the NVC, and NVC will send you a letter with a case number on it. The case number will usually start with ACC followed by some numbers, and in a lot of cases the letter will tell you that your case has been forwared to the embassy in Ghana, that won't be true at all. You need to call the NVC and find out the status of your case at least once a week. When the NVC does inform you that your case has been forwared to the embassy, then you need to send the embassy an email explaning to them that you are the petitioner of a recently approved fiance petition. You want to state in your email that you would like to receive a formal letter emailed to you, so you could inform the benifiting person when he or she could go to the embassy to pick-up package 3&4. This may take some time, but it should be before July 30th.

  14. I thought that email address was for the nonimmigrant visa. And this is the immigrant visa situation. I have sent numerous emails. I will try again to both, however when i view theembassy info on this site, it states that they can go pick up package 3 and 4 at the same time but only on wednesdays, and it may take 8 hours to get it. but i will see if i can get the appointment letter first. So are you saying they will give him an appointment letter once I email them and let them know this?

Yes, first the letter will say that they mailed an appointment letter out to your fiancee on such & such a day, but whatever. Then the letter will say, if he hasn't received it, he can report to the embassy on any business Wednesday to pick-up packet 3 & 4. It will tell him that he must show the letter to the officer when he arrives at 7:30 in the morning. When he gets there in the morning the officer will take the letter, and tell him to have a seat outside with everybody else until 2:00pm. Them at 2:00pm someone will come outside to get everyone, and explain to them that someone in the states has petition for them and will give each person their packet, which should have there interview date inside. Everything will sound so great until they open up there packets and see the interview dates, then all hell will break loose. Best of luck to you guys because it's a long journey.

  15. Unless it has changed, your fiance will get the packet 3 and 4 together with the interview date. Make sure that the medical and police certificate are as close to the interview as possible. Good luck.

The wait time for an interview in Ghana for a K-1 is about 12-13 months from initial filing. For the CR1 its over 18 months from filing to interview. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Take a look at the guides (http://www.visajourney.com/content/guides) . I'm not sure what visa you are applying for but the guides will give you a good idea for timelines and what is required at each step.

It's more like 15 to 16 months from initial filing for K1 now.

  16. So the NVC sent my I-129F fiance visa paperwork to the US Embassy in Ghana on June 8th, 2011. I called embassy in Washington yesterday (7/5/11), and they informed me that package 3 was mailed out to my fiance two weeks ago and he should wait another week. If he does not get it in another week then he should contact the Embassy abroad to send him another. I'm like #######, the embassy abroad does not take phone calls! That's what they told me, and their emails are always automated, there is not human response. They also say he will not be let in the Embassy unless he has an appointment. So what the hell are we supposed to do now?!?! Because on top of that I also hear that it will take 6 months for him to get his interview!:crying: I have no clue where to go from here. I have sent him a copy of the paperwork and let him know he may have to go to the embassy and let them know he has an appointment so he can get in and pick up a package. Does anyone have any other ideas of what we can do at this moment because I'm at a loss. PLEASE HELP! how can he get his package 3 & 4, and will it really take 6 months to get an interview from the us embassy in Ghana???

Hi, I know how you feel trust me. However, they will not let him into the embassy without an appointment letter, I know this for a fact because my fiance and I just went through the same thing. You have to email the embassy and give them the case number you got from the NVC, It should start with ACC followed by some numbers. When you send the email, inform them that you never received a appointment letter, and your fiance is waiting to pick-up package 3&4. The email address is NIVaccra@state.gov, and they will respond within 3 to 5 days. Finally, there will be at least a 6 month wait when he goes to pick-up packet 3 & 4. Best of luck to ya...

  17. Weed only stays in your system for 10 days if you don't smoke it everyday, but if you smoke it everyday then it can take up to 3 to 4 weeks or longer to leave your system.
