  1. It's not that useful to compare from bio appointment to card - because if someone goes in for an early walk-in, they might end up waiting a long time for EAD because a walk-in doesn't usually speed things up, though it can. A better estimate is from the time of initial filing, which is 2-3 months. Each state has its own DL requirements, so check with your local DMV.

thanks, and it was her appointment, not walk-in :)

  2. ok great now it gets worse...He mailed it to this address. I am sure this is the wrong address to send it to according to the immigration website. What's going to happen now? Darn it i wanna punch this idiot in the face right now

This is the address that he sent the package to with the wrong fees too

    U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services

    P.O. Box 804616

    Chicago, IL 60680-1029

  3. My lawyer sent in the wrong fees as well! I was sooo mad! Then instead of overnighting the returned package he sent it via 2 day shipping!! GRR! Should have listened to my husband and NOT hire a lawyer!....However, it didnt set back my case too far. He said they included some expedite form or what not so once he sent it back they would pick up where they left off...but who knows if thats true...hes seems like a liar. I wanted to ask him for my money back but i figured he wouldnt agree to that.

how long was the delay? from the day he mailed out the wrong fees til the day he got back the package from immigration? im thinking around 2 weeks the most? At least your lawyer only sent out the wrong fees, my lawyer screamed into my face when i asked for the money back and much much more.

  4.

Dump the lawyer and try and get your money back. Collectively, VJ is a much more valuable resource, unless you have a particularly complicated case.

i came asking for my money back, but the idiot screamed into my face. At that time he hasn't completed the paperwork yet. The idiot was so rude, he said you already wasted my time by coming here in the first place and that i wont be getting all my money back. So i told the idiot go ahead and continued with our paperwork then. The idiot said he knows everything about immigration so i have nothing to worry about. He promised to send out the package so i continued to emailing him twice asking if he sends it out yet. Son of gun emailed me back saying dont ever email him again and that im starting to get on his nerve. He sent it out a week later with the wrong darn fees. I want to blow up in his face but then again i will gain nothing from this. Oh well, a lesson to learn from.

  5. Our aos package was sent out yesterday. Prior to completing our package, we went to the civil surgeon and took all the shots that are required for aos except for the second dose of MMR. The cs told us we cant do the second dose of the MMR til a month later. So they marked the vaccination part in the i-696 as incomplete and sealed the envelope. They said just send the aos package out along with the seal evelope and it will be fine. They also said come back in a month to take the final shot and that is the second dose of the MMR and it will be completed. Then they will give me the second seal envelope with all the shots completed so i can take it to my wife's interview. My question is, are they right? will i get an RFE?

  6. You may be able to go back to the POE and get a replacement I-94. It's definitely worth making a call to the CBP office at the airport where she landed.

If you have the vaccination supplement from her medical in HCMC another medical exam may not be needed. Go ahead and submit a copy of that vaccination list with your AOS package.

What did you use when submitting the Affidavit of Support for her visa? IF your current income is not enough you can use a joint sponsor with the I-864 Affidavit that you will be submitting.

I just remember she came here in the beginning of August so it has been a little over 6 months. Does this mean she has to do her medical all over again with a civil surgeon? My lawyer told my wife to do her medical check because that required for AOS. So the medical check is to go to a civil surgeon and have him translate her vaccine record onto the form 693 and do the skin test? please tell me more about this medical check, i am confused.

  7. When did your wife arrive? And what visa did she enter with?

Police report will not be sufficient in place of the lost docs.

She arrived 5 months ago with her k-1 visa. I just hired a lawyer to do her AOS, he said " it's fine if she lost it, don't bother wasting 300 dollars to get a copy of it" He said he has alot of experience doing this, and he has done it before, so no worries. I didn't really trust what he said so here i am asking for help from everyone

  8. Hello everyone, I am in the process of filing AOS for my wife, but my wife lost her I-94, visa, and vietnamese passport. To make the story short, we have filed for a police report stating the lost documents. The good thing is, awhile back when i was filling out the forms for AOS. I did write down all of her infomation, such as her I-94 number, visa number, and passport number in including the dates. Please Please help me,my questions are

1: Can i turn in the police report stating the missing documents along with the i-94, visa, and passport's numbers?

2: Will they accept the police report in the replacement of the lost documents? or they will give me an RFE for the lost documents?

3: When she goes to take her medical check with the civil surgeon, what forms or paperwork we will need to get from the CS in order to file for AOS?

4: In the affidavit of support, it's asking for the last 3 years of tax return and a current letter of employment. What if my last 3 years aren't good enough, will they take the current letter of employment into consideration?
