  1. The K-1 visa is a one-time use visa and became null and void the moment she used it to enter the US. You would need advance parole(not re-entry permit) or the green card in order to travel and have her be able to re-enter the US. No biometrics are required for AP. Send in a copy of your NOA receipt notice from filing the I-485 with the forms and the fees for them will be waived. If you have not already, you may want to put in a service request and/or contact your congressman to see why the I-485 approval is taking so long.

Ok thanks Jay Kay. Last time I checked online it said it was in the intial review phase and it could take 16 months at the California Service Center. I have one more question, Im getting ready to move to Connecticut should I apply for the service request now? Or should I wait until I get my new address then apply? I have no idea how the change of address process works and I dont want our documents to get lost in the mail.

  2. My wife filed for I-765 renewal while pending AOS, but no fee was required. I am not sure about I-131 we didn't file this for renewal.

We have a pending I-485 also. Im a little bit confused, my wifes K-1 visa is expired but our I-485 is pending. We would like to go back to Romania to see our family. Should I apply for a re-entry permit or and advanced Parole document?

  3. $5. deductible is great. Mine are 20. The health departments around here used to give vaccinations for free, I guess everyone is broke these days. OMG the civil surgeons list needs to be updated. None of them really knows the law. I tried to tell them that certain visa types only need vaccinations. I called about 15 of them before 1 of them actually knew what was going on.

  4. Robert for me it was not pocket change, especially after paying for a $1500. plane ticket. The health department wanted about $400. for varicella, mmr, tdap and the flu. Also all ( accept Mercy ST Vincent) Civil Surgeons in my state wanted to charge 200 dollars for the appointment plus $300-$500 for the shots that wasnt including a medical exam. All of the civil surgeons in S.E Michigan and Ohio didnt accept insurance for the vaccinations or the filling out the paperwork. The civil surgeon did state that I may be able to submit the vaccines to the insurance company. Even with that there will still be some other medical expenses that a person who had a flex account would receive money back for.

1000 a month for insurance? Good God, I hope you are a business owner or something or your employer plan is pretty bad.

  5. First Id like to thank everyone. Without your help I would have been lost on how to get my fiance over here. Thank you all. Ok here is what I found, when your fiance or family member gets here they are probably going to need medical care. Vaccination, dental work, etc. When you get married and add them to you insurance. You will have a chance for a new open enrollment for qualifying events. I highly recommend everyone opening a flexible spending account. The vaccinations for my wife were about 300 dollars. Would have been more if she had to get a full medical. You also should consider 2 copays for dentists, doctors, glasses etc.

  6. I have been continuously employed for the last five years making over the 125% poverty amount. I found a better job and I'll be starting a new job soon. Can this change of jobs effect the affidavit of support? I will still be making over the poverty amount , the new job isnt temporary and I have proof of income over time ( tax transcripts). Im about 2 months in to the K-1 process and Im hoping everything goes right so my fiance and I can start our life together. Thanks for taking time to read my post.
