  1. Hi,

I have a quick question about the DS 260.

My wife's peruvian passport has a passport number AND a "documento de identidad no." aka DNI which is her Peruvian national identification number.

On the personal information page 2, for document type I put passport but underneath it is a field that asks for a document ID.

Do I need to put my wife's passport number there or her DNI ie national identification number?

I looked at the screen shots of a DS 260 but that field was blank.

    She holds no other nationality.

    Thanks.

  2. I don't really want to go the ITIN route plus I'm not in any big hurry to get back a refund nor do I want to file now and ammend later as some people on here have done so here's my plan.

Do my I864EZ with most recent tax year (2009) + pay stubs from fiscal year 2010/11 (in case they want to see current income)then do an extension(form 4868) for the current year. That will buy me 6 more months. By then, my wife should be here with a SSN and we can do married filing jointly.

I'll go ahead and do my taxes for 2010 (just not file them) so I'll have them and a copy of the extension I received if they want to see them @ the interview.

  3. Ok, I've completed my DS-261 online paid my AOS and IV bills online. (Actually, the IV is still showing In Process but I checked my bank and the payment cleared this morning but the DS-260 is still grayed out).

So, the next step (?) is to do the DS-260 online (when it's eventually available) and then SNAIL MAIL the I-864EZ and pertinent documents i.e. marriage certificate, beneficiary's birth certicates, police certificate, passport photos, etc. to the NVC.

Just to be clear, I don't have the option to scan and send the documents, right?

I have to go the snail mail route since we will be using the Lima, Peru consulate.

  4. Noo, that is normal for TSC. The first email says you were approved, and then the second one tells you your approved case was shipped to the NVC. If you join us on the CSC to TSC thread you'll see most of us have had these. good.gif

I understand what you're saying but the way they worded the last email, it sounded like I was going to receive a second hard copy of the NOA2. I received the first one on Jan. 4

    We'll see.

  5. I noticed they (CSC) misspelled my wife's first name (the beneficiary) on the I-797, Notice of Action.

The petition was eventually transferred to TSC.

However, there are no spelling errors on the I-130 petition that I submitted. I made sure everything was correct.

The I-130 petition has been approved and sent to NVC (Well,I think it's been sent but I have still not received a case#).

The I-797, Notice of Action is just a form letter, right? Will this be a problem with NVC?

  6. No wonder they've delayed other people's approvals. They've been too busy approving mine!

I received a hard copy I-797, Notice of Action for a I-130 on JANUARY 4 that my petition has been approved and sent to NVC.

On January 29, I received the following message in an email from TSC:

Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity

On January 28, 2011, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directlynuary 28, 2011, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly

Now last night I received this message in an email:

On February 7, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Soo my timeline is completely screwed. Does all this mean I will receive 2 visas and I can give one to my wife and sell the other one on Ebay?

P.S. Still waiting for the NVC case#. I call and the AVR tells me they have not yet received the case.
