  1. Hi everyone.

I have been member of this forum since I was working on my immigration to USA and it was more than helpfull to me.

Now, I have a question regarding to my friend situation.

She is US citizen and she is planing to go abroad to Bosnia to get married to a guy she met over internet few months ago and bring him here to USA and I am happy for them and I want to help them.

I read the forum topics and I found a lot of info but I would like someone to respond to me.

How long it takes thesedays to bring the spouse to USA ( it used to be almost one year)?

Is it better to get married there and avoid K1 visa ( as he doesnt have a job and never traveled and they never seen each other in person so she is affraid they will reject him)?

Any info , advice suggestion is valuable.

    Thank you all!

  2. I was just wondering if anyone knows, after paying green card fee (based on the instuctions given by the Embassy), my green card should arrive to my mail adress in US after I arrive there.

But, are they waiting to take my photo and fingerprints on POE for the green card - or they will use what they have in my file so far.

My PoE is Chicago - any tips?

Thank you all so much for the support I had on my immigration visa journey!

  3. Does this means CASE COMPLETE or we have to wait for separate letter of CASE COMPLETED information:

"The National Visa Center has received all documentation necessary to complete pre-processing
of your case. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner
and attorney (if applicable) will be notified. The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment
until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa."

  4. Hi there,

I am in Bosnia and my husband is in USA LPR. Our PD is 21 JUL 2011

We are parparing AoS I864 and we are sending it soon, as well as IV package.

I know that there is an interview to be scheduled for me in Bosnia when our case is completed, but i am interested if my husband will have some kind of interview in USA related to our case, or with I130 approval he is considered as interviewed.

Also, what after I enter USA and pass the immigration procedure at POE?

Do I have to adjust status or pass iother procedures, or something, or everything I need (application for SS, GC ...) is already hadeled within my immigration package?

We are married for 5 years, and I believe my GC will not be conditional-- it will be regular on 10 years?!

    Thanks!

  5. Please comment my post :)

My husband and I waited for IRS tax report 2012 to be filed so that we can attach it to affidavit of support package related to our case.

We waited for this for almost a year since in May 7 2012 we received letter from NVC with informatons that the case in in process but visa numbers are still not availble.

We will do the payment for Affidavit of support this week, and send the package (please suggest what to send as well - is it neccessary all sallary checks to be sopied and sent) ... but I am concerned if we are late - I heard that there is a rule of case to be dismissed if there is no contact from the applicants for the period of one year.

I immidiately sent an email to the NVC asking something, just to keep the conntact,. but I dont know if it is enough?!

    Any advice or comment??!!

    Thank youuu!

  6. Do you need any legal papers (aka birth certificate, some police reports, I don't know...) to finish this process?

Will you take them with you (in case your PD becomes current while you're in the US)?

If so, you won't be entering for the tourist purposes only.

I think you can't adjust inside of the US, since your application/visa is proceeded overseas. But I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrong.

I will not take any documents with me. It just a question "what if" because there is a chance that i might be there when my pd becomes current. there is no fraud, it can happen....

    Thanks

  7. The other poster is right. You cannot enter the US with intent to "finish the process there" because that is immigration fraud. You know your date is about to be current so you would probably have issues trying to finish in the US anyway because they would know that you knew this when you entered.

Remain in your country to process it.

I will be entering for tourist purposes, without any other intention but to visit my family. I have valid visa and I want to visit my family.

I am just asking if it happens that pd becomes current while I am there, is it possible to adjust status there.

I was already in USA for period of 6 months on my tourist visa so it is not something odd.

    Thanks.
