    ut if you do want to change the card, go to your nearest social security office with your green card, and they'll give you a new card without the words "with dhs authorization". you will also have to fill out the social security application form again. you can find it online.

    hi! actually, i haven't done anything to change my social security card yet. what i was told is that the number stays the same, and the social security office is already aware of your permanent residence status change. so you can just use the same number without actually changing the card.
