  1. Hello giveusfree, I did not request a prima facie, my attorney did everything for me and I think she requested for me. But if you look in your first prima facie notice you will see the address and instructions.

you have to send a copy of your first prima facie along with a written request for an extension. I hope this help. I can give you the address that appears in mine but it may not be the correct one for you .

It says send your written request to :

UNITED STATES CITIZENSHIP AND IMMIGRATION SERVICES

    VERMONT SERVICE CENTER

    75 LOWER WELDEN STREET

    ST. ALBANS, VT 05479

    Hi Anxious,

How did you request a prima facie extension? I tried to call them but I was told I couldn`t do it over the phone :(

The last processing action taken on your case

    Receipt Number: EACXXXXXXXXXX

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Testing and Interview

On September 30, 2011, we mailed you an appointment notice for an interview for November 3, 2011, at NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER. Please follow the instructions on the notice. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your application will remain in this step will vary by office and is largely determined by the number of cases ahead of yours. The interview notice will have specifics about time, location and anything you will need to bring to your interview. If your application remains pending beyond our normal processing times (as shown below) please contact our national customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Please note that not every application/applicant will require an interview. In some instances, an interview is required by regulation and others an interview is requested because USCIS has determined that this is the most efficient means to determine eligibility. For a naturalization application the interview will include your taking the required English and/or Civics tests (unless exempt or waived).

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results

listed above, or if you have not received a decision from USCIS within the current

processing time listed*, please contact USCIS Customer Service at (800) 375-5283.

*Current processing times can be found on the USCIS website at www.uscis.gov under Check Processing Times.

  5. I send pictures and little notes that he sent me when we just started dating. I did not have kids with him either but I was married to him for 7 years before filing for VAWA maybe this helped I don't know. I did not have mutual property with him but I sent some paperwork of him from his ex jobs where he signed me as his wife, then I just sent a lot of pics, our wedding was small, just 5 people !! but I sent pics of this too, then of course insurance policy bills, even though I was not allowed to drive he had to sign me up for his insurance and of course letter from friends stating that they knew of your marriage , I did not have join bank account , I have never had a bank account so I think this is one of the strongest proofs you have!! :)

    Hello everyone!

Thank you for your fantastic support. This forum has been a huge source of support and survival, I must say. I was totally broken after what had happened in my personal life...same story like the most of us. But I'm glad to find this forum and find some hope...and survive.

My lawyer got the RFE in his hands today. USCIS is asking for more proof on good faith marriage. I'd send them a bunch of pictures of the weddding event, honeymoon, joint bank accounts, wedding bills, and all the details in my statement. I did not have children with my spouse, so cannot provide more details on that front. Also, my husband was really dominant and wanted to take charge of things, so he did not include me on any other things like lease agreements, automobiles, properties...etc.

What should I provide to the USCIS to suffice their requirement on good faith marriage? Please help.....

  6. Hello Adele , thank you so much for your answer. The reason why I love this forum it is because we are all in the same boat and we all are experiencing the same situation.

I am following your case, ladyg etc because our approval days are very close to each other so If you haven't gotten anything then is normal I hadn't either :)

I am just afraid my attorney will not let me know on time. My attorney mailed me a copy of my notices (VAWA approval, I485 transfer) this past Tuesday and I havne't gotten them yet !!! I can not pick them up myself because the office it's 1:30 minutes away.

Well I will just wait but please as soon as you received your interview letter let us all know it will be really appreciated for all of us waiting for one too.

Thank you. I will keep you and everyone in my prayers . Be positive !!!

    hey Anxious,

I haven't heard anything from them yet regarding the interview notice. Still waiting but i would take EVERYTHING you attorney tell you with a grain of salt.... don't believe that they know everything sometimes u do your own research and in this case, i strongly belive they are WRONG, everyone I know including my lawyer said the interview will be scheduled in a FEW WEEKS not 6months! Even if u call USCIS they'll confirm that unless there is something EXTRA SPECIAL about your case

Otherwise you are on the same track as Yullisa, Ladyg and many more, don't panic :bonk:

  7. Hey Adele ,any news about your apportionment letter? I am still waiting ...

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY :) :) :) i knew you would get Anxious; i hate to say it but I TOLD YOU SO :) now we both have to wait for interview dates.. hope they come soon.

You will... hang in there, September is our month, it won't pass you by and you are also in my prayers.... and next in line :)

  8. Hello everyone. I just received a phone call from my attorney after almost a week since my applications were updated in the USCIS website. My attorney congratulated me for my VAWA approval and that now I only need to wait for the I485 interview which could be anywhere from 6 months or so!!! But from what a read here , after the VAWA approval the interview for the I485 IS ONLY SOME WEEKS AFTER. Now I am afraid that my attorney will not let me know on time about the interview and miss it !!!

    I received this email on the 19th;

    Your Case Status: Initial Review

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

From what I read here , this means that the transferred application was received at the NBC, so I don't think it will take 6 months for an interview and I am afraid of not being able to gather all the necessary documents to take to the interview , please someone that have already received their I485 interview notice let me know what documents the ask for ?

Thank you and keep positive thoughts and pray a lot that justice is served for all of us that truly suffered in the hands of our spouses.

  9. I have a question. My attorney told me that I can apply for citizenship in 2 years and 9 months instead of 5 years. Do I need to be still married to my ex to apply in 2 years and 9 months ? or If I divorce him , would I have to wait for 5 years? I really don't understand this part. My ex does not want to give me the divorce and I shopped around for some attorneyS and they all want $7000.00 US dollars to defend a contested divorced!! I don't have this kind of money.

Please any advised from some of you who are already divorce or divorcing. By the way, my attorney has yet to call me. All my application were sent with a waiver fee and all were approved. Could they take a long time to give me an appointment because I did not pay the fees?

Hey guys,i hopes u are all ok,ladyg dont worry about the i864,all u ave to take is ur birth certificate ur i94 and all the original document u sent to them, may be if u working u can let ur employer write u a letter and plse take ur tax papers but that not really important, but u can take them in case they ask, when is ur interview?they gave me new interview date and they canceled it again so am going for an infor pass.i cant belife it,am so tired about this.:angry::angry::angry:

  11. I want to share these news with all of you because I know these are the news that we all wait for and all you will receive very soon , only we know what we have been thru in this long journey , here it is :

I promised to let you all know abotu the out coming of this frustrating days of uncertainty.

I will post my timeline tomorrow because all I want to do now is celebrate with my mom!!!!

    God is our witness !!!

Adele you applied a day before me! Oh my, I hope they don't take to long to give me some news...

  12. Thank you so much for your answer, this answer comforted me a lo. I haven't received a call from my attorney yet so I will wait like I said until Sep 15 to call.

Thank you again and wishing the best to all of us!!!

    hey Anxious,

I don't think they would send it to NBC if it is denied :) My attorney basically told me that my VAWA was approved when i got the transfer letter even though I did not get the approval letter yet. An just like you i had not heard anything since I filled it; no RFEs or anything, it was always on "Initial Review" but that just means that you had everything they wanted, trust me, that approval letter is on the way :)

  13. I was asked for my husband's birth certificate when I apply for Vawa and since I could not get that one in a million chance the copy of his american passport worked!

I have a question .I am scheduled for interview next month they requested for my husband's bith certificate how am I supposed to get it and what else can i take when applying for vawa I used copy of his passport and driver's license please help those wwho went for interviews through vawa what did you take thanks

  14. Hello Adele , yes it is a big coincidence that we had our I485 transferred with only 6 days apart and that for security reason we have our mail sent to their office.

If your VAWA is deny , will they send the I485 to National Benefit Center too or they only do it when Vawa is approved? Like I said before I haven't received no RFE or intention to deny... This is so confusing. My attorney may be in vacations too because of the Holiday , I am just praying for quick news .

  15. Thank you so much for your support. For security reasons my mail is sent to my attorney's office. I haven't gotten any news from my attorney so far and it's been 11 days since I saw the update!! My attorney always calls me to let me know what's going on with my case, like when my second prima facie was accepted and when my EAD arrived to the office , so right now I am sooooooooo anxious as to why I have no news from my attorney yet!!!!

And don't worry I will keep you all updated, good or bad , I will let you all know what's going on. I am a nervous wreck right now :S but I will wait for my attorney to call me until 9/15 if not I will call to the office myself to find out. I will keep you all informed. I wish good news for all of us and soon!!!

  16. Hello everyone , it's been a long since I last posted something in the forum. Well I applied in DEC 10 for I360-I485 and EAD. Got biometrics done in FEB 2011 and EAD was approved in MARCH 2011 , no updates after this until AUGUST 8/26/2011 that my I485 was sent to National Benefit Center .... I haven't received no RFE so far.

Is this good? From what I read here I guess I should be happy but I am so nervous and scared. Why would they sent the I485 to NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER?

I applied one month after inpeace . Well I am prying for good news for everyone.

  17. Oh thank you tuna.....now I now why my work permit is taking so long.....I did my biometrics 4 weeks ago and I haven't heard anything from them. I'm so frustrated because I got laid off my job because they need it.

Yes, You should call info pass. I filed for I-360, I -485 and EAD. After exactly 90 days of waiting I received my EAD. For some unknown reason I already have my fingerprints taken for I-485 but it is still pending as well as I-360.

  18. I have question, I filed WAVA and got approved. My CCoirt case was terminated, I was asked to file I485 again, I did with waiver. Now I received a letter from USCIS that They received my I 485, that letter have note on the fee column as " Fees previously collected" Is this normal? Isn't that should be as "fees waived"?

any one on the board filed I 485 with fees waiver?

I filed I-360 , I-485 and EAD all with fee waived. My I-485 reads : " Fee previously collected" so I think that means it was waived. My I-360 and EAD reads: " fee waived"
