My husband never received a letter for his biometrics appointment! Ever since submitting the paperwork, we check the mail religiously and toss nothing. Is there someone I should call? Looking at the list, it looks like everyone go a biometrics appointment within a month of getting the NOA1. Heading into the new year and drawing closer to his extension deadline I am getting super nervous.

Hi not sure if you already got an answer to your question. That happened to me and I called the immigration, if it's pass 1 month that u haven't got a notice u must call them and they will send u a biometrics schedule in the mail . Thanks

  2. How is everyone doing? just an update with my adjustment of status. Finally received my Welcome Letter on the mail for approved Adjustment of Status as well as the I-130 approved petition. God is great! after all the tension and waiting, my green card is on its way. I thank all the VJ's members for helping me out on this process. My husband and I didn't even have to hire a lawyer but only read all the input here. Wishing every body best of luck on their journey…We'll keep y'all in my thoughts and prayers.

  4. Hey Errant,

Glad to hear things are back on track for you and hope things go smoothly from here.

Quick question - how did you know your appointment was scheduled for April 16th without receiving the letter? And was the agent on the phone able to reschedule you?

The reason I ask is that I never received my letter and the date passed. When I called all they could do is send a service request to the NYC office.

    Thanks!

hi MnMJourney, just saw your timeline and you just sent your packet last month? you should expect to have a NOA for biometrics 3 months , say May or June? if you dont receive any letter after 3 months, then it's time to call them back.

  5. Hi, we've got first letter from them and asked Dad to open and read it for us because we were not home that time and too excited what was in the letter..so he mentioned something about 16th of April. Biometrics appointment and asked him to mail it to us...and we never received the letter he sent and made me worry again so i called the USCIS hotline and told me my appointment was the 23rd. And that they would send the NOA before my appointment.I think they reschedule mine from 16th to 23rd,

  6. just a quick update. received a notice of appointment for biometrics last April 8th and scheduled for 16th of April. good grief we asked Dad to send the notice to us because we were in Dallas for daughter's surgery. guess what? mail didn't arrive so had to call USCIS if they can send me copy of the letter because "again" considered lost in the mail.. the representative asked for some details and told me they will send another one by mail and scheduled it for the 23rd! Thank God the mail arrived safely and in time for my biometrics appointment so YES! it's done! and just got an update that "On April 23, 2014, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you."...holding my breath with this long journey. but thanks to VJ for great input.

  7. a good update! just when you're about to lose hope.. and just when we're about to send another documents.. guess what? our mails have reached the USCIS office! after almost 2 months, we've got a text, email and mails that they've already received and accepted my applications. we've got the notice of action last December 26...now I'm just gonna sit and wait for how long, who knows for the next procedure. God is great!

  8. Good day everyone! Just curious which forms I need to file for my daughter. my husband is petitioning me from tourist to permanent resident (AOS). my daughter is still in my country. we just sent all the forms for me I-130, I-485, and the I-765 altogether + 2nd form I-130 for the daughter. All forms have been accepted and got the notice of action except for my daughter which has been rejected and asking for additional form I-485 separately for her. I am just confused the AOS is for adjusting status residing here in the US, correct?

  9. Mine is over 30 days now so they considered it lost and all lost mails are being sent to the Atlanta office and told me to wait for at least 60 days for my packets to be returned. Nice right! I told them I am not going to wait for that "piece of sheet" in 60 days, just sent a complaint letter, and asking them to send me a letter that they've lost my mail...( that I can attach on my new package) and hopefully can use it for my surgeon to give me another Sealed Envelop of my Medical records (without asking for any fee, charges or whatever).. For now, I am trying NOT to stress myself about this lost package (though it is really stressing thinking about it) ..so I am slowly Re Doing all the paperworks and just ordered another Tax Return Transcripts online, and yes called the immigration doctor (but haven't called me back yet, hoping she'd feel sorry for me and give me the papers)..also cancelling the 3 checks..

    Unbelievable USPS!

  10. Yes! I wanna kick someone's a$$ for giving me headache! They lost my packet! 2 Forms I-130 and Form I-485 including all copies of documents, pictures, 3 checks and my sealed medical envelop! is it just only me or anybody lost their packets? I called the USCIS and they said they couldn't see files under my name and suggested to START OVER AGAIN! ggrrr!

  11. Thanks all for the response. so are you guys saying I should go back to scratch? How about the sealed medical records? I am starting to feel upset with the USPS. we sent it via Priority certified mail with return receipt and signature. Who knows where the packets are. Is it okay to call USCIS to ask if they have receive any packets under my name or will it just be useless to call them?

  12. We sent our packets I-130 both for Me and my daughter in the Philippines + the AOS since I am adjusting from B1/B2, it was sent on Nov. 8 and so far, the latest we could see on USPS website is this "Depart USPS Sort Facility" (that was the 9th) ... I didn't know it's gonna take 2 weeks or more for our mail to be received by the USCIS. the post office guy encouraged my husband to do the Priority mail certified while I was insisting on the Express mail. The guy said it's gonna be there the 12th of Nov ( like 2 days ) and someone from USCIS will pick up all the mails..I called the USPS and they couldn't give me straight answer on "what's going on with the certified mail" but only gave me a case number which was useless anyway. until someone from the local post office finally explained to me that YES it will get there in 2 days BUT it depends WHEN will the USCIS representatives feel like getting my mail (which usually take 2 weeks) but as I am writing this, still haven't got any USPS update with regards to our mail. On the 26th, Dad said he got a return receipt from the post office but no signature so he had to return it to the post office and the lady took the receipt and sent a duplicate copy to Chicago post office for them to sign it. I am starting to get worried of what is happening to my packet ( all copies + the original medical are in that mail ) if they get lost, what do I need to do? esp with the medical records? I know it will take time for the processing, what I'm concern about is the Original Sealed Medical Envelope from my surgeon,( we paid $560 total for the piece of envelope ) the rest I think I can easily make copies/print out. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

P.S. we signed up for electronic notification, no emails/text either. The 3 checks ( 1 check for the daughter, 1 check for my I-130 and the check for AOS and biometrics) haven't been cashed yet either. Thank you!

  13. any news for you? haven't got any USPS update with regards to our mail. We sent it Nov. 8th on Priority Certified mail (as per the USPS guy suggested instead of express mail) Dad said he got a return receipt from the post office but no signature so he had to return it to the post office and the lady took the receipt and sent a duplicate copy to Chicago post office for them to sign it. I am starting to get worried of what is happening to my packet ( all copies + the original medical are in that mail ) if it get lost, what do I need to do? esp with the medical records? Thanks

  14. Just be patient. been reading from old posts and we still have a long way to go. :) We sent ours on Nov. Good luck!
