I will go ahead and get the tickets . BA seems to be the cheapest for one way tickets compared to other airlines coming to SFO from Mumbai $770 compared to $975+ for other airlines .

just on a diffrent note ....I am trying to get tickets for my wife through British Airways .Is anyone of you aware of any visa restrictions for UK during transit .

She has a 3 hr halt at London .

I am not getting clear answers if any transit visa is required if if she is not planning to go out of the airport

Let me know if anyone travelling with the same airline and wife will be getting the GC after the interview

AVR has changed forwarded to consulate on september 28th.

As Navyk said, I will give everyone feedback once my spouse completes her medical exam in Hyderabad by end of this week to early next week. She will then visit VFS office no later than 27th of this month or 26th. For now we are clear that my spouse will be submitting her medical report, copy of interview letter, 3 passport size pictures and copy of passport(first and last pages) unless we feel it is not safe to submit medical with VFS.

08/27/2011- Wife Sent PCC from India(In fact she did get PCC on end of 27th from passport office in India and she mailed PCC following day upon getting RFE from NVC. Otherwise we thought of submitting during interview)

08/30/2011 - Case Closed(Thank God)

09/23/2011- Medical test appointment

10/24/2011- Interview Date at Chennai @ 1PM

You can only submit documents to VFS no earlier than 10 working days before interview ....also note they will not accept documents if less than 7 days are left for the interview

so we have a small windows of 8-10 days before interview .

Dont want to dissapoint you ...but looks like Nov is done for Mumbai consulate as Aug 27 case complete got Nov 28 date....

NVC/EMBASSY does not require local PCC they only need Passport Clearance Certificate issued by regional passport office.

The Passport Office issue Passport Clearance Certificate on the basis of Police Verification Certificate (Which is called local PCC) and they will also stamped on the passport of applicant.

I can upload my PCC if its helpful to users.

Can you please upload it will be useful for all of us to see if we have the right one ....Please black out ur personal details to protect privacy .

You will only get an email for your interview letter. You won't get anything in postal mail from NVC nor an Embassy. It's best if you tell your spouse to make several copies of interview letter so you will have it on hand when needed.

For submition of docs to VFS ---It says submit orignal interview letter .

what is the orignal letter ?

Is it the same we got in email or will we get one in MAIL (Postal).

We should take the copy of the email ...would that be enough ?

Whoever submited their docs to VFS or has already passed the interview can answer this .

Just got email confirmation. its 11/01

mumbai is really backed up ...aug 26th CC are getting nov end .Surely sept 1st week will be dec mid or end .

I think too many holidays in india and US in oct-nov-dec affected this as consulate employes get both indian as well as US holidays

i havent recieved an RFE again for the PCC and after you mentioned i also tried to loginto the system i am able to .I used to get SIF earlier.but same is the case with my daugter she did not get an RFE for PCC as she dosent require one .

So looks to me it is that NVC is trying to do something maybe scheduling our interview ...just hoping

You can keep worrying about October interview date, no need to worry about RFE!

Also Fenil please do no tmail ur PCC to NVC or else they will reopen ur case and it make take much longer .

Submit ur PCC at the interview

Just received an RFE for Police Passport Clearance Cert. I knew this was coming as we can't get one in our particular region of India until we get an official interview letter.

I called and made sure everything was still ok and it was. We're still in line for interview...

I had the same issue ....they did not close my case eventhough i had mentioned that in the ocver letter .I sent an email mentioning the unavailability and later talked to the supervisor then they closed the case .

Do you have a case close already ? then you are fine or talk to a supervisor .The operators kept telling me they are aware for mubai consulate but didnt close my case...so check with supervisor

For India does anyone know how the PCC looks ....My wife just got a small paper stampled in the passport from the Govt of india ...saying report is clear

Not sure if this is it or she needs to get anything more from the passport office ?
