  1. It's been quite a heck for us this past days, we received the I-797 C together with the whole package. My baby put the wrong date on the cheque and the form that we use is the old form. It has been sent back to us 02/14. Fastly, we sent back the whole package same day with the correct details on the cheque and updated form......augh what a stressfull Vday  Though I'm not sure if it's already counted as NOA1 my baby said that I-797C is attached to the package.

Just curious what does the regular NOA1 package contain? When he sent it back he took the I-797C out and just put the revisions on top (as per instructed).

    Good luck!!!

  2. Barn and Cean.. please clarify - I am now very worried!!! What is form I-797? I did not include this in my petition! I received delivery confirmation that our package reached today via USPS... but I fear I will be getting it back shortly as well because of a missing form :(

I-797 is only the receipt notice. See below:

"When a petition or application is submitted to USCIS, the applicant or petitioner will receive a Receipt notice. On receipt of the petition or application USCIS will send this receipt notice to the applicant. The receipt notice is also called as Form I-797. After the application is processed successfully, USCIS will send an approval notice on Form I-797. Be notified that Form I-797 is not a visa and cannot be used in place of a visa. It states that action is taken on your application and this will be mentioned in the form."

  3. Hello All,

I'm still new to this thing, so I am learning as we go...

I notice that a lot of people have detailed time-lines that includes the date that they started dating, got enganged, etc etc... I can only find the place that VJ has already setup for us to fill in, such as I-129 sent, NOA-1 Received, etc...

Can someone tell me how to edit the time-line and add the details?

    Thanks!

  4. Well, I don't know really. But what I would ask is:

#1. How did you make payment. Watch for your check to be Cashed. (This happens pretty fast.)

#2. How long ago did you send the Packet?

#3. Did you pay for a Confirmation that your Packet was signed for and recieved. (did you get a tracking number?)

#4. Have you created an Account with USCIS yet to see if it was Accepted.

Depending on how long ago you mailed your petition and you have not seen any of the above listed. I too would be worried. Not just for the delay, but getting all my information back that took so long to put together.

Good Luck, hope it works out.

I only sent it 2 days ago! It will arrive today (Saturday), so I dont think they will put it on the system until Monday. I cant create an account to check the status at the website because the system is down. I will try it again on Monday. Thanks for your reply!

  5. I did the exact same thing back in October, and they (thankfully) routed it on for me. Phew! I lost only a day, thanks to them forwarding it. They probably come across this a lot. Also - side note - I made my check out to the wrong entity - I thought I was writing it out to the correct one - and again, it must have been a common mistake - they accepted it and cashed it anyway. PHEW! So, for some things, they give us some slack. YAY! Good luck to you and your honey :)

Phewww!!!! It's good to know that there are more people on the same situation as me!

    Won't be a problem.

    Thanks everyone for the replies!

  6. Hello everyone,

I just submitted my package and I already have a concern. The I-129 instructions say that I am supposed to send the USPS Express and courier packages to the Lewisville TX address, but I sent my USPS Express package to the Dallas center which is supposed to receive US Postal regular mail.

Does anyone know if may have any problems because of it?
