  1. For a 2 person household (the immigrant and USC) it's $18,212

if he doesn't have a co-sponsor, and he doesn't STILL earn over the $18,212 then yes you can be denied.

he told me he has earned 20k for 2010 will that be enough? he was unemployed just last july 2010.

  2. Do you have a co-sponsor?

As long as him and the co-sponsor can produce an amount above the poverty line then no, you shouldn't be denied.

If he is below the poverty level with no co-sponsor, then there is a high chance for denial.

    Check the poverty guidelines.

and usually what is the poverty level?

    thanks

  4. hi everyone. i just want to know if nvc has expiration? they asked for my ds230 and civil docs last jan 24 2011. and until now i haven't sent my docs because i'm still waiting for my pasport. the dfa got problem on releasing it on time. i'm afraid that it might be too late for me to send it? my priority date is april 23, 2010. should i really be worried?

  5. ISHTI: on that passport frontpage you have signed it already. Check your passport if the frontpage has your signature or if not photocopy the frontpage along with a page with your signature in your passport.

ah ok. thanks. thought i have to sign for another :star:

  6. Yep just the front page that has that information on it...I believe the opposite page for my wife was where it said "not valid for travel to iraq"

just the photocopy of it to be send to nvc? do i have to sign the photocopy?

  7. All of those documents are "suppose to be there." But things get lost and dropped between desks. Have a copy of the AOS but most importantly have his original tax forms and w-2s. It's also good to have at least his last 6 pay stubs. Don't give them a reason to raise an eye at you. I was with my wife at her interview and she was asked for my original w-2s but not recent pay stubs.

my husband was the one who send those to nvc. do i need to have a copy of it from him or will the documents send to nvc be returned to me during the interview?

forgive me. i'm really clueless. thanks in advance

  8. you need the green NBI and just a photocopy of the passport. That is all that was needed for my wife's visa.

Here is the link to the Police clearance stating which one is needed: http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_4881.html?cid=3650

    Police records

Available and reasonably reliable. Philippine-born immigrant visa applicants 16 years and over are required to furnish certificates issued by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). The green NBI certificate annotated for travel abroad is the correct certificate. Other colors are for local use only. Foreign-born applicants who have resided in the Philippines for six months or more may be issued NBI clearances upon application either in person or by mail. Applicants residing outside the Philippines should send requests for certificates together with money orders or bank drafts for the fees and postage to IRD-Mailed Clearance Section, National Bureau of Investigation, Taft Avenue, Metro Manila, Philippines. Philippine Embassies abroad can assist Filipinos in obtaining NBI police clearances. The NBI has its own fingerprint charts and personal data forms that it will send to the requesting applicant for execution. Most applicants abroad find it more expeditious to have a relative or friend in the Philippines assist them in obtaining their certificates from the NBI. In that instance, a letter of authorization is required. The applicant may also submit a copy (“personal copy”) of a prior NBI clearance to facilitate the processing of a new clearance. Posts are advised that not all arrests and convictions occurring outside of Manila are reported to the NBI. NBI’s criminal records database is not foolproof and the remarks provided on reports require explanation.*Manila and major Philippine cities have computerized records.

    thanks scott and may
