  1. Actually, I just picked up my NOA2 hard copy moments ago. It states that the petition "has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance,....".

So, here are a couple of quick ones I could get answered by USCIS, but they are closed now. I just want something before Monday:

Does this mean it was not sent to the National Visa Center but directly to the consulate?

Don't all approvals go there first (to the National Visa Center)?

Finally, on the NOA2 form, they listed my Green Card number even though I am now a U.S.Citizen. Did everybody's come like that?

  2. The petitioner will be sent the hard copy of NOA2 approval and then the petition is sent to NVC to create a case number takes a bout a week and then forwarded on to Sydney, You and petitioner will be notified of packet 3 , they actually sent it to my then fiance in USA and he emailed it to me. So now you can get things together and be organised when it comes. Look at US consulate Sydney and it will tell you what doctors to see for your medical in your area and get police report done as it takes a few weeks to get back. You can get all this done now while you are waiting. I had all mine done so when packet 3 arrived I had it all together and sent the same day.

  3. Mine was about noon time Houston, which is about 11:00am in Vermont at VSC. I don't think though that they have any specific time frame to send out their adjudications. It's just a matter of churning out the stuff to meet their quota. Unless they come across a "difficult"case they will approve and send it out on their own. There is usually a supervisor they could ask to clarify stuff like that. It's like every work place, you don't know the answers, you ask a colleague or the boss.

  4. Praise the Lord God almighty, Aleluia, our Petition was approved after a 7-month journey of wait, frustration, and sometimes anger. We never for a moment doubted that He was always going to be there for us. We knew it was just a matter of time, and His time. For those of you who are waiting anxiously for your own time, keep the faith. Believe it or not, I was on the phone long distance with a close relative of mine on Friday pouring out my heart about my anxiety and frustration with the unknown wait when I heard the beep on my phone. I glanced at the screen and saw the word "USCIS", so I excitedly said to him, "hold on for a minute". He said, "well, call me back". I said, "please hold on for just a minute, this is very important". He did. I read the message hurriedly over twice and just said to my God and myself, "thank you, Jesus", and got back to him and screamed into the phone, "our Petition has just been approved". He was happy and congratulated me and we talked for a few more minutes and he told me to call my fiancee right away, which I was going to do anyway. I called my fiancee in Australia (she is 17 hours ahead of me) at 6:30 am while she was still in bed. She woke up and I eased her into the situation so she wouldn't scream. She said she was just tired so I told her that she should start preparing because our Petition had just been approved a few minutes ago. She screamed into the phone and started crying with joy just loudly praising God, not even listening to anything else I was saying. I listened as I felt that inner peace from that success God had just brought us. We eventually prayed together on the phone (thanks to some inexpensive phone cards $5 gives me 3 hours on their house phone).

So my brothers and sisters, please be patient. Today it's me, tomorrow it will be you and the next day, somebody else.

I was on this forum before but for reasons unknown I couldn't get through and had to re-register, but I don't mind. I couldn't even access the administrator, thereby just compounding my frustration. For the future, in the event there is a repetition of such, give me an e-mail address to be able to contact the administrator.

  5. Not really,or perhaps it is, by default. According to someone on an immigration radio talk show (on KPFT 90.1 on your FM dial, also on line) on Tuesdays in Houston, Texas 7:00pm - 7:30pm Central Time, that 5-month timeframe is quite reasonable. He went on to say that the TPS program was assigned to the Vermont Service Center, thus imposing some sort burden (my inference) on their system, hence the shift in their procedures - hopefully for now.

  6. Is it possible that the real reason it is now taking so much longer at both CSC and VSC is that there is a new policy in force aimed at slowing approvals of fiancee and spouse visas and discouraging applications as an attempt to generally slow immigration? I cannot help but wonder about this as both service centers seem to be leveling out at the 5-6 month level! I have no direct evidence to offer other than the pervasive anti-immigrant attitudes in this country and the lack of other compelling reasons for this pattern.
