  1. D/D,

I agreed with your original post! There is definitely bias in the immigration process. Me and my husband have two areas on the so-called red flag list: Divorce / new marriage dates close, and we are different races. The result: we are still waiting for a NOA2 going on 14 months. We know our relationship is true, and we are praying each day.

When I hear cases on here when some poor USC has suffered fraud I get so angry because how can the fraudsters get through but me and my husband kept apart because of a bias system.

  2. I realized it by traveling in the US and UK. Staying there and being "surrounded" by people with a more positive attitude makes me complain less! That's even a game with my fiance now, when I complain, for him, I'm being french. :P (I don't deny it, I just work on being more optimistic)

modmodgirl, that's a though decision but as others said, don't take it too fast. And you already invested money and time in the K-1 visa...

My husband's French, and he's the least complaining person I know. In fact, he barely complains and he hates the protests there...

Modmodgirl, I lived in France a year with my husband, and I found the job market to be extremely depressing. My husband has to work odd temp jobs just to get to the next month and those are few in between. You waiting on your finance being able work is going to be hard, but you guys love each them and you will make it work.

  3. Maimuni726,

I'm so sorry to hear that you have been stuck at the NVC for almost a year. We have been stuck at the NOA1 stage for just over a year, and no one can tell us why.

Did you asked the rep to speak to a supervisor. Do you know what document they are reviewing? Maybe there's supporting documents you can submit. I don't know for sure, hopefully, people who have been through the NVC can offer more accurate advice.

  4. Hi VJ Members,

I've been trying to check my case status on the USCIS website tonight, and I keep getting the message "You are not authorized to view this page. The Web server you are attempting to reach has a list of IP addresses that are not allowed to access the Web site, and the IP address of your browsing computer is on this list." Could USCIS really have blocked my IP address? Anybody else getting this message.

    God Bless

Thanks for everyone prayers. I'm praying that we can all get approved soon. The wait has been hard for all of us, but it's good to know we can support each others in our difficult journeys.

  6. Update: I just received this email from CSC:

Your background checks are now complete. Your case is currently being adjudicated. You should receive a notice of action within 10 days. The notice of action may be in the form of Approval Notice, Denial Notice, Transfer Notice, Request for Evidence, Notice of Intent to Deny or Notice of Intent to Revoke. Thank you very much.

 Ok. It's moving!!! I'm praying now it's an approval!!

I'm praying it's an approval!!!!! Hopefully you will know soon... Waiting is so hard.

  7. What have you done so far? Have you contacted anyone? Do you know why it is taking 9 months so far? Is your congressman, senator involved?

All these long waits really have me worried.

We filed the I-130 in Dec; mid-May our case got transferred to the local office (Chicago) for "interviewing and testing". After waiting for an interview notice, I put in a service request and the reply to that was that USCIS was performing background checks and to wait for six months. Our lawyer put in another request, this time with a supervisor in Chicago, and we got the following response on 8.31.11: "This is in response to your inquiry dated August 15, 2011. Service records indicate your request for scheduling of your I-130 is pending. The service will send you a letter by mail when your I-130 has been schedule."

I dont know if this latest response means anything, so I don't want to get my hopes up. I'm at my wit's end like so many others who have gone through this process. Should I have my lawyer write to our congressman? What else can I do? I feel so helpless.
