  1. Congrats! Thanks for sharing.

Quick update on our interview yesterday. We had pretty basic questions:

    how we met

    what we do for fun

why we got married in NY instead of NJ

We were approved on the spot, and our passport was stamped with the I-551 as well! Waiting on an update email/text from USCIS with card production at this point.

Same me, on dec. 21 second notice of EAD. I think it is all normal, there is a lot of posts on that subject.

    Question...

Last friday I got the card production email for my EAD.

Today I got the same exact email with today's date about EAD card production.

The status online is card production still.

Any Idea? Should I be worried or normal? Thanks so much!

  2. You are right, dear! Just will stay positive.

Well, I'm very inpatiente person, so couldn't handle and called USCIS helpline. Checked on my status and they said that the system shows my case has been put in a queue for interview date  . I wonder how long after this message I would get a letter about interview

Yes! You are absolutely right! Have got to stay positive! We'll all get through this one together one way or another sooner or later. ;)

Also, nothing about EAD, still in process....

  3. Congratulations! That was fast process for you :0 And yes , it is normal to get Interview date ( even green card) before EAD :0 No worries!

Still nothing for me, no letters, no email, no EAD, not even to check status online- still shows "your case cannot be found" .:(

Thanks so much!! February 3! So that would be about three months since the NOA. Hope all of this is normal after not getting any EAD updates...

  4. The NOAs are dated October 13th, I'm filing from Newark from an F1. The rest of the my timeline is in my signature.

Thanks for posting. Wow,you are just a few days ahead of me. Don't you think, your process went very fast ( from applying to the interview) or is it normal? Or may be NJ works faster :)

It's killing me that I cannot check anything online. And when I called USCIS to check my status, they were like...: "you jut got you biometrics done a week ago? what's your question? " And they are right. I'm just too inpatient

  5. How did it go?!? Hope all is well!

All went well, like i prrviousely posted, painless :) still no case online :(

looks like i belong to this group. i filled mine on the third week of oct. (2011) and about to have my biometrics tomorrow... will they ask me questions? what should i expect aside from fingerprinting?

They dont ask anything, nothing to worry about. Just get the documents ready like id and biometrics appt form. They did not ask me for merrage certificate.

I checked my case status online, and our interview has been set for December 20th!

Wow!!! Really? When did you file, can you post your timeline? Thanks

  6. OMG i read that you got your DL with just the NOA but i dont know if GA works the same...im so sick and tired of waiting for my EAD card and i want to buy a car i live in the suburbs...did you have to show some valid i-94?

Check with your state DMV. I had to show I-94. I had only expired one...since 2003. They did not care. THey just needed to see the entry stamp. Also they required 2 proofs of address ( i showed bill and bank statement). My advise is to call first to find out if a NOA1 without case being approved yet, just pending is OK for them. If they say yes, then go ahead and try in person. Also depends on a DMV worker...like always. I was lucky to have a lady that really wanted to help me and really took her time to figure out what exactly has to be presented so I can get a license. There was one of those "immigrant haters" that just wouldn't let me through demanding to show a Green card :bonk:

Good luck, hope you can get a license. It is really difficult without a car in America..especially if you are in suburbs.

  7. Thank you so much Dave&Roza for your fast reply! We have gotten some information on how to proceed to apply for new passport within US with the Czech embassy but the process is very lenghty and their need for proper valid documentation would once again pose a problem since I do not have the required documents to obtain my country's passport within the US to the best of my knowledge. I was planning for applying for my Czech passport after I receive my EAD, SSN (and possibly my driver's licence) since that would give me some valid nonexpired documentation that the Czech embassy seems to accept. Thank you for all the information....it seems that the best route to take is to wait it out until I do receive my EAD and SSN.

You should able to renew your Czech Passport from US. I did it with my Russian Travel Passport through the Agency in Chicago. Also overstayed and had no valid documents. They did not require anything, my expired passports and copy of Russian birth certificate was enough. Check with your embassy again and do a better research online. But either way, this process takes longer( 4-6 month with Russia) then if you would get an EAD. So just wait for EAD to come. Good luck .

  8. Just wanted to give some info to Floridians who in the process of AOS. I did get mt drivers license with NOA1. May be I got lucky, but I was very persistent. I called a few times before going, then I went there 2 times and the 3rd was the lucky one :) But I had already SSN which I think just eased the process since it is in the "required documentation". They need only originals, and my Original SSN was lost. So i had to go to Social Security Administration to get a print out from them with a stamp. That worked for DMV. Second time I went they needed the proof of my husband citizenship: passport or naturalization certificate. So we had to go back to get that. With all this papers they let me through to finish the process. I already had my drivers license, it was expired So all I had to do is renew. They renewed for one year. I'm very happy with that. And thank you to my wonderful husband for being so patient and supportive.

  9. Did my Biometrics yesterday ( scheduled, walk-in wasn't allowed :()

The process is fast and painless except the wait, I waited for an our in line to do a 5 minute thing.

Are all October filers can view their case online? I keep checking and it still shows " you case cannot be found.....". Even a day after Biometrics which I really counted on, still no "case" Should I call the USCIS? Would it help?

  10. Congratulations! I'm Soooo can;t wait to get my Biometric letter :(

Can you update your timeline, please? Seems like we sent out applications at the same time. I just got NOAs hard copies , but no biometrics yes :( Also I'm unable to track my case online , still shows " can't find ...blah, blah, blah".

    Any updates anyone?

Got my biometrics appointment for next month along with application receipt notices in the mail today! Very very comforting to be one step forward. Hope everyone is doing well! Let's stay connected!

  11. Yes, that's probably a good idea to sent it along with application for renewal. Still wondering if anybody had same situation and if he has RFE for it?

I renewed my passport by mail without a rush and got it in ten days. I too am a citizen via parents. I'd send in a copy of the expired passport along with a copy of the application for passport renewal. Sounds like the USP is your only citizenship document, same as mine, so keep it current and safe.

  12. Yes, that's one of the requirements for Joint Sponsors- proof of citizenship. So you will have to provide same thing.

My brother (US citizen) does not have a passport - he is joint sponsoring with me my fiance who is Norwegian. Why would you have to send proof of citizenship for the joint sponsor anyway as long as they are a citizen?

Just a question only - perhaps it has been a long day and it is time for bed :)

okay.. so when AOS comes I will possibly have to prove my brother was born in the US?

    Great, thanks!

you can expedite for any reason or no reason. you just need to pay more. everything has a price, in this country. God bless the US$

    Spasibo, I'll look through

lisenok,i found it here http://travel.state.gov/passport/hurry/hurry_831.html somewhere mid page

  13. REAlly? i was on travel.state.gov and did not find that info. can anybody confirm that you we don't need any travel intent in order to get an expedite service?

this way would be perfect : $60 extra and done in 2-3 weeks .

•Anyone may request expedited service for any type of application (e.g., first-time applications, renewals, amendments of existing passports, etc.) It now takes 2-3 weeks to expedite. It is extra $60 + overnight fees. See travel.state.gov .They do not need any itinerary.Hopefully by the time you get RFE,the passport will be ready

  14. Sorry. No problem.

***** I have removed your other topic on the same issue. Please do not start more than one topic on a question. *****

You are funny  . why would you think I'm a "HE". I married my husband USC and my joint sponsor is my best friend :ot2: !

Does your wife know you have a girlfriend? You have 86 days to reply to an RFE. That should be ample time. As this is important you should apply for the passport ASAP. "Busy" is not an excuse when it can get you denied/deported (though that risk is small, it's still there).
