  1. i've been looking everywhere for you guys!!

we filed on the 28th of jan (see my timeline below)... also just received my EAD card and got the SS card. just applying for jobs now and waiting and getting stressed out cos looks like you guys are having interviews already (good luck and congrats where it applies  )... i keep peeping at the site and the last time our 130 and 485 was touched was feb 9th so i'm quietly losing my mind. along with liz16 it would seem. i'm adjusting from a B2 visa and we're living Massachusetts. at least i have job applications to keep me busy for now. updating my resume made me feel so old :)...

hoping and praying we get our noa2 asap.

Hang tough Jessica - your interview will be coming. Thankfully, you have your EAD card to keep you busy - good luck job hunting.

Good luck on your interview tomorrow Tash!!!!

  2. Good luck on your interview today TJ! Can't wait to hear all about it

    Thanks - APPROVED!!!!

It was pretty easy - we had a young guy who dotted every i and crossed every t, but didn't ask anything crazy. Stuff like do you know spouse birthdate, kids names, how many kids, how old are kids, asked about proposal, wedding, reception, does he have any family here, has he met my family, reviewed almost everything on the applications - pretty basic stuff. It lasted about 20 mins.

  3. That's alot too! 2 more days!!! How excited are you? What time is your interview? Mine is at 10:55am and its at the same place I did my biometrics so its not that far away :) glad they didn't send me all the way to the Miami field office

We are at 11:15. Very excited and anxious to get on with everything. Amazing how much stuff is just hanging till you have a green card - stuff we Americans take for granted.

You are lucky to have a local office. We are about 1 1/2 hrs from ours. And now you have the bus stops perfected, you will have no problems.

  4. Thanks I'll be waiting for a detailed review lol soooo...if you dont mind me asking, what proof of relationship are you going to bring with you?

I don't think we that much stuff

    Three joint credit cards

    Two joint checking accounts

    Joint BJ's membership

    Joint Tax returns

    Joint car insurance

    Joint Comcast account

    Three affidavits

    Wedding pics

    Regular pics

    Mail addressed to us

Don't have that much at all! Oh well. That's all I got :)

Wow - you have a lot! I only have our joint auto insurance, tax returns, bank account & pics.

  5. Good morning everyone! TJlove your interview is coming up this Thursday. You ready? Wishing you all the best! You are gunna do perfect.

I got all my stuff just laying on my desk....better start organizing :D ...just waiting for a couple affidavits to get here and our 2010 tax transcript. Cannot wait to get this over with! It's kinda like torture lmao!! I just really hope I get a somewhat normal interviewer and not some meanie

 - ready! Thanks for thinking of me. I'll keep ya posted.

  6. guys...did you receive another confirmation email about your card production of EAD? cause mine did..

it said.. march 29th before..and then now when i checked (and received an email) it's april 1 o.O i don't understand?

will the production of my card be delayed or something? or is this normal..like a glitch in their system or something.. ???

Yes, I got another email today. One of my friends said that happened to her (last year) and her card arrived that same day.

  7. Well the ead got here today...but its useless since I cant get a ssn because I don't have a valid passport....yay! sooo lame. Wondering if I should renew passport now or after interview???

If it were me, I would renew it now. Interview isn't going to have an affect on your passport. You will need it if you want to travel back home anytime soon after you get your green card. And you know how things roll in Jamaica, nothing is an easy task. It's going to take a minute to get it renewed so I would start working on it asap.

  8. Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Testing and Interview

On March 14, 2011, we mailed you an appointment notice for an interview for April 19, 2011

     yay!!! Finally!!

Congrats!!! We got one of these "love notes" today too. Interview April 14th. What a way to start a Monday!

  9. Just got an email from uscis.

    Card/ Document Production

On March 7, 2011, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

    YAY!!!!!

Wow Tash!!!!! That's awesome - good for you!:thumbs:

  10. :D yep! Have you decided if you are going to do a walk in or wait until your appointment? I'm kinda thinking I wanna try a walk in...but I duno lol

We are going to try a walk-in next week. Our "local" office is almost 1 1/2 hrs away so we are going to try to do it on my husband's next day off. Because it's holiday week this week and he works at a ski resort he's has crazy busy hours this week. You should try if you can - it seems to work!

  11. Well, from what I have read here, it does help in some cases. At least it would not hurt to do it early.

Yes, anything to help this process out. We will probably try to go early as well, on one of my husband's days off instead of having to take a day for it.

Did they question why you came early and not wait to the apt time?

  12. Hi Everyone!!

This morning at 7:30 was our scheduled interview. We left our house around 6:10 and arrived in the USCIS bldg. at just a couple minutes to 7. The security was a breeze and there were quite a lot of people in the waiting room already. We were seated at around 7:10 and waited around 30-35 minutes before we were called.

Our interviewer was unbelievably pleasant [we readied ourselves for an interviewer that may be harsh and devoid of emotions] and engaging, she was smiling all the time and sometimes would apologize for being blunt. She made us take an oath and said that she wasn't going to ask us about our married life as we have submitted sufficient evidence, the wedding, the photos etc.. She wants to talk about my daughter. This caught us a little off guard because my husband didn't know much about my daughter in terms of interaction, being that she's in the Philippines lives with her father and just 9 years old. He saw her only on photos but have not really spoken to her. Anyway, he asked my husband[uSC], does he know if I have a daughter?, how many? several or 1? What does he know about my daughter? She seemed not satisfied with my husband's answer and pressed for more. She then tells him that he is petitioning her and my husband said yes and went into a bit of detail what our plans are once I get my greencard and she gets hers. She seemed satisfied with his answer. After this, she told me that I was in a difficult situation being that my daughter is away. She asked me how committed I am to my husband, am I sure I won't leave my husband when I get my greencard and my daughter, that I may just be using my husband now to get a greencard to bring my daughter and her father to which I answered, absolutely not. AT this point I felt like I had to tell her the reason why I separated from my ex-husband briefly and after telling her and this satisfied her.She asked us where we met and to confirm our home address, then she asked me the I-485 questions to which I all answered no, and she asked for my passport and told me she will make sure that my daughter and I will see each other soon. This touched me so much, it made me teary-eyed. She explained to us that I can travel internationally with the stamped on my passport as it's good as a greencard, the greencard itself will arrive in a month and the process of removing conditions and asked us to wait in the waiting room for another 15 minutes while she get my passport stamped. We were extremely happy. When she handed me my passport, she hugged me, told me to give my daughetr a hug for her when I see her and shook my husband's hand and said we're a beautiful couple. :)

Overall, the interview wasn't structured, it was kind of a friendly conversation with the necessary questions thrown into it. She is of Irish ancestry and my husband is originally from Dublin, they exchanged notes on that and she's planning to go to Dublin. We talked about business and stocks and the company that my husband is working for because she bought their stocks. She mentioned some immigration stories about husbands reteruning their wives and vice versa, to which we all just laughed. ALthough, we were caught off-guard we still did not panic and we answered truthfully to her questions. We brought in a small roller bag to put in our documents and photos, none were touched. She just took my passport & I-94.

You cannot really prepare for the interview, all you can prepare for are documents substantiating your marriage and life together. If you have a legit marriage and you really know each other, you 'll encounter bumps but it will be easy to overcome it.No matter what happens be honest, they will see through you whether or not you're telling the truth or not.

I'm sorry for the lengthy and discombobulated post. I am still overwhelmed and very happy and we have a flight to catch at 4pm.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH VJ COMMUNITY!!! WE DID IT!!! On to 2012 for ROC, at least we will have a good amount of breathing space before that starts!!

    Congrats!!!!
