Thanks for the idea Daisy 22. But Casa Bocobo is too expensive to live there for the next 6 months. She is looking more to share a room or bedspace. Thanks a lot.

Any ideas for an inexpensive and safe place to stay in Ermita? My fiancee is commuting daily from Makati to St Lukes for her TB treatment and its turning out to be very hard on her. The Jeepny rides take her almost 3 hours each way on some days due to traffic, and the heat and dust aren't a good thing especially in her condition. I've seen a few places online that look like dumps close to the LRT. They are little more than a bunkhouse. That would be ok I guess if its in a safe area. She has made a good friend already and they are thinking about renting something close to St Luke's. They could share living expenses and keep an eye on each other too.

Thank for the good information and also for the prayers. We are quite devastated as you can imagine. Fortunately she has a brother who lives in Makati so she has a place to stay. She never had any of the classic TB symptoms of weight loss or fever. She had a little cough last month that she thought was just a cold. We are still pretty much in shock at this point.

After our annulment nightmare that lasted 27 months, and now this, I think we are in contention for the longest currently running LDR

Can I ask the members here if any one has undergone the treatment at St Luke's in Manila after having a positive Sputum culture? My fiance just received a call today instructing her to report next week for a Dr appointment. She just gave the samples last month, June 20,21, and 22. I can't imagine its good news.

We would be grateful to anyone who can shine a light on the treatment procedure including how many days per week would she have to report in the clinic for her medication and any expenses not covered in the original medical fees.
