authorisation is not enough. The only way to adopt the child for immigration purposes would be if you move abroad and live with the child for 2 years.
Ahh now thats trouble
Ofcourse by authorization i meant solving all legal issues but the 2 years is really tough. With my employent and such

Sorry i quite dont understand what i am missing...
My cousin has passed away so there is only 1 living parent. I understand ofcourse the living parent have to authorize.

Dont i meet the criteria from the below link
There are five primary elements to the Convention adoptee classification. In addition to other applicable requirements, all of the following must be true for a child to be eligible for the Convention adoptee classification:
The child is under the age of 16 at the time the I-800 is filed on his or her behalf (taking into account special rules on filing dates for children aged 15-16), is unmarried, and lives in a Convention country;
The child will be adopted by a married U.S. citizen and spouse jointly, or by an unmarried U.S. citizen at least 25 years of age, habitually resident in the United States, whom USCIS has found suitable and eligible to adopt (Form I-800A approval) with the intent of creating a legal parent-child relationship. Note that at this stage the child must not have been adopted yet, unless that adoption has been voided by the country of origin. (USCIS, in September 2008 FAQs on its website, offered guidance on cases in which the adoption cannot be voided in the country of origin.);
The child's birth parents (or parent if the child has a sole or surviving parent), or other legal custodian, individuals, or entities whose consent is necessary for adoption, freely gave their written irrevocable consent to the termination of their legal relationship with the child and to the child's emigration and adoption;
If the child has two living birthparents who were the last legal custodians who signed the irrevocable consent to adoption, they are determined to be incapable of providing proper care for the child; and
The child has been adopted or will be adopted in the United States or in the Convention country in accordance with the rules and procedures elaborated in the Hague Adoption Convention and the Intercountry Adoption Act of 2000 (IAA), including that accredited adoption service providers were used when required, and there is no indication of improper inducement, fraud, misrepresentation, or prohibited contact associated with the case.

My cousin brother has passed away on 15th of june in a road accident and has left behind a 4-5 month old daughter and his wife.
I was wondering if it is possible for me to adopt my cousin niece and immigrate her to the U.S so that she may have a better future and not be a financial hardship on her mother.

MY wife's interview is on the 23rd of september. I was wondering If I the petitoner(US Citizen) would be allowed to be inside the consulate building during my wife's interview.(Mumbai Consulate)
According to posts on visajourney i am getting mixed answers
---------
13. I was present in India for the interview, but I wasn't allowed in. If it came up during the interview; "When was the last time you saw your husband?" or "When was the last time your husband visited you", she could reply he is here right now waiting for me outside the embassy. The other question I had her preped for, was "When would you go the US if we gave you a visa?"; my wife replied I would go to the US at the end of the week with my Husband.

My husband went to VFS office on Aug 29th in Mumbai to drop off all the documents which were required to be submitted prior to the interview. Documents which VFS accepted were passport copy, passport size pictures, DS-230 forms, Birth Certificate (Gujarati & English) copy, Marriage Certificate copy, Police Clearance Certificate copy, Interview letter, and Medical Report.
Does my wife have to re-submit the above If I had already submitted them to NVC along with my DS-230 Package?

My wife has her interview on September 20th. I just need to schedule a medical appointment for her. She hasn't received her interview letter in the mail but we received it in our emails. The only thing they ask for is "Correspondence Instructions" which is marked with a "C" What does that mean?
Means if you require any further help you should Direct your inquires to Consulate/Embassy.
Check page 3 of your interview letter.
Aya820,
You forgot me

Raj why don't you update your country?
Anyhow my wife called both lilavati hospital for medical and got medical scheduled for the 7th of september. She also called VFS to inquire about fees. They asked her to submit her medical and passport to them anytime before the interview.
Should she submit her passport to them ahead of time or not as she might need that to enter the building? She has a driving license for ID purpose.
-
No, but it is a good idea to have it ready as its required for the next step. DS-230
-
Nope, NVC has no control of our case once an interview has been scheduled and shipped to consulate/embassy
-
case complete July 18 but got a very late interview for Sept 28, is there a way to request earlier interview date?
email mumbai consulate
MumbaiIV@state.gov or (022) 23637407 between 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. on any business day
For inquiries regarding long-term resident visas.
-
Three recent photographs for the medical, does it has to be US standard size pictures(2X2) or Indian standard size?
-
Is the applicant required to bring pictures to the interview? IF so how many?
-
I think you can pay VFS fee anytime before interview,
You need to contact the Hospital/physician directly to schedule interview( I am not sure how far ahead this needs to be done)
check out this link for list of panel physicians

How can i find out if my file is with Islamabad embassy did u call embassy or NVC?
I called up department of state, I dont know how true it is though. The trend is NVC schedules interview then sends out the package, however my interview hasnt been scheduled yet..

-
Is it possible that NVC forwards cases to Embassy/Consulates (For ex: MUMBAI), without setting Interview Dates ?
Thats what the lady at department of state told me.

I just called DOS , The lady said my file is with Mumbai consulate, they havent scheduled an interview yet.
Secondary review for global entry after conditional approval
in Passports, etc. - What to do now that you are a US citizen
Posted
Hi there,
I was conditionally approved for global entry but during interview I was told by the interviewing office I will put another secondary review.
Background- I entered USA on visits visa when I was 13/14 Years old in the year 1999. Our intention at the point was purely visit our family. However during that time my fathers friend recommend he apply for job here and settle down. He agreed and went through legal route, the company he applied for accepted his job application and they applied for his adjustment of status within our legal stay(6 months from entry date). My father and mother were both given Employment Authorization with INS Approval(before USCIS came in place) around the year 2004 all docs were approved and we received our green cards in same year 2004, at that point I was 17 years old, few years after that we applied for citizenship and it was granted for all of us.
When I went to for interview the first thing I was asked how I entered the United States to which I responded I came with my parents on Visitors visa and explained how I received my greencard to which she replied though your adjustment of status was pending you are considered out of status which makes you ineligible for Global Entry, but said she will have a senior officer review and continued on with her questions such as why I visited Qatar,Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Dubai to which I responded swiftly and she seemed satisfied but was saying Qatar is something then stopped, then asked about my last trip , if I had any upcoming travel plans and my employment status . My finger prints were taken along with the weird way of taking picture with a webcam.
She then asked why I am not applying for my family to which I responded they don't travel as often and are currently on a trip to India returning upcoming week and asked for their legal status.
The interview was concluded by her saying at the moment I am sending your file for secondary review with my supervisor (and pointed at wall behind her ) and taking off conditional approval.
What do think my chance of approval are provided this was more than 10 years ago, I was under the age of 18 throughout the time and I didn't have to sign any type of waiver before I was handed out my green card at the USCIS(formerly known as INS) building, and it was my impression since our file was under review we are given temporarily authorization to work/live in United States. If denied do I have a chance of appeal with the above facts?
