  1. Thank you all for the help so far.

I have a few more questions concerning the I-130.

    1. I wanted to include a letter describing my relationship history, marriage and future plans with my husband, as part of the bona fide marriage requirement. I am wondering how long and how detailed I ought to make such a letter. My original draft is quite long. I am torn between offering as much info as possible so as to be honest, and offering concise info so as not to trigger RFEs.

    2. I am reading more about RFEs and am wondering what common pitfalls there are that end up triggering one. Or is this not something that is easily predictable?

    Nervous about getting everything right,

    Caliris

    1. I never included a detailed letter describing our relationship. The only thing I've included was marriage certificate aside from birth certificate of our daughter (that might not apply to you)... we included pictures with description of the photo and dates at the back. We also made sure that it was a timeline of our relationship. We had photos before we were married, at the ceremony, after the ceremony, vacation together. You might want to show more physical evidence than just a letter you drafted describing your relationship, but I'm not saying it wouldn't help. If you have emails or letters to eachother that might be good to add as well. Take a look at this link, there are more examples here on this link: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/IR1_and_CR1_Immigrant_Visas#Evidence_of_Bona_fides_of_Marriage

    2. That's a tough question. We didn't get any RFEs when we submitted our I-130. The only advice I have it to be accurate in filling out your application and don't lie on there. Follow the directions carefully and submit only what is asked. Don't leave anything blank always use N/A or None when the question does not apply. If information does not fit in the space provided on the form you can always attach a continuation sheet. Don't give yourself too much of a headache. If there are any questions about terribly worded instructions on these forms you can always ask someone on here. More likely than not, we've all had the same question!

    Hope this helps! Good Luck!!!

  2. I just paid my AOS Bill and today it says I'm paid on the site. So I printed out the cover sheet and a copy of the receipt for my personal records so now I can send out the and now I have to send out the I-864 affidavit of support. I then read from their website that you can do things electronically. I have the documents but I'm confused on what I need to send via email and how they want me to sent it. I'm the sponsoring and petitioning my wife, but I need my mother to be a co-sponsor. So directions say to both of us need to fill out a I-864 and submit the ferderal income tax transcripts for the most recent tax return and other W-2 forms from the last 3 years. They also ask for some other supporting documents like a letter of employment and resent pay stubs.

    1. I want to do this via email. For me to process this step electronically... What do i need to scan exactly and email to the NVC? I'm a bit confused because the travel.state.gov website. says that if you are sending this via email you just need to scan the I-864 to PDF and email it. And not to send any physical documents.

    2. Do I need to scan the cover sheet, I-864A, IRS transcripts and W-2 forms, letter of employment and make this into 1 big PDF file or send each as a separate document on 1 email? Will they eventually send the request to the house so that we can send it to the.

    3. I sent the email to the NVC so they can have the list of emails so they can have my email on their system. Do I need to hear from them first before attempting to process anything online?

They directions on send this form via email are not clearly defined and making my head spin. I'm getting so confused... HEEEELLLLPPPPP!!!!!

Nevermind! I found what I was looking for. BOOOOOOO!!!! Only for places that electronic processing is available. Guangzhou, China, Montreal, and Canada. I guess I'll have to send it via snailmail!

  4. My I-130 for my spouse was Approved on 12/27/2010 at USCIS and was forwarded to NVC. I have not heard from the NVC yet. How long on average will it take for us hear from NVC? How long did you wait before contacting the NVC about the status of your case. I hate the playing the waiting game and I'm really tempted to call every week to check on our case.
