We met online, in the blogosphere, early in '08, struck up an acquaintance, and very soon exchanged email addresses and began corresponding. A few months later, we switched to phone/Skype as our main means of communication, and have been talking for an hour (or several!) pretty much every day except for when we're visiting each other. We met in person for the first time in Oct '08, when Lisa visited Jeff in Buffalo for a week; Jeff came to Calgary the following summer, and in Mar '10 we both travelled to Santa Barbara, CA, for Jeff's sister's wedding. Jeff has been back to Calgary a couple of times since, in Oct '10 when we made arrangements with our marriage commissioner and got the marriage license, and in Dec '10 when the wedding took place.
We're now putting together the package for the I-130 (reading the info on VJ has already been a big help with this!) and will be filing soon.
