When it’s time to submit the civil docs, provide PSA copy of her marriage certificate and NBI clearance for her maiden name with AKA for her married name (even if she never used her married name). A letter of explanation from you will also help clarify the “mistake”.

Thank you very much for the help

  2. Please help. My mom is from the Philippines. I filed my moms petition and it just approved at USCIS. And I assumed she’s not married because I never grew up with any father or step father. So I when I filled up the papers I entered 0 marriage (never been married). And when im

gathering papers I told her to get Certificate of No marriage and other papers. And she showed me the paper and she’s actually married. I just found out. Now I don’t know what to do to correct all this and I just received her approved I-130 last week.

Agreed with Vanessa!! WHY YOU JUST DON'T GO HOME HAVE PRIDE AND PLUS IS NOT A GOOD START WITH ALL THIS ABUSE!! Still I'm very sorry for your situation and wish you all the best!!

I'm sorry you're going through this but I do have a quick qn... why don't you go home? I know for 100% certainty if Tony and i didn't work i would have been on the first plane home, the GC just isn't that important to me because I didn't move here for that, I moved here for him.

**Edit - yes you can TRY for VAWA. You might not get approved though, it's not guaranteed.

  4. Hello journey, i had my interview last may 11, 2011 with my daughter the pre-interviewer asked the I-864 and the final interviewer (consul) didnt asked anything...but there is a vj member that had her interview last may 6, 2011 and she was on hold because the consul asked her I-864 and she dont have a copy of it coz her husband told her that they already submitted it to NVC to USEM...so you better have it and ready than not to have it and wait...goodluck and godbless

The "condition" is that it is a temporary 2 year green card. 2 years after entry you can remove the conditional status and you will get a 10 year green card. Other than that there is really no limitation. Basically it is saying that since you have been married less than 2 years Immigrations wants to check up on you after a couple of years to make sure everything is on the up and up.

  6. When i m still in the philippines my husband sends me $250 every week, but i did not force him to do it as i have a job and i didnt quit till the day i m leaving my salary goes to my family from 1995 to 2011..my husband knew it and when i came here in the US he promised me that he will continue to sending them financial support i told him we dont have to do it coz i have a new life now and i know money here is not just easy to earn...but he insist but we talked that he will just give them $100 a week, as we not renting our home..you have to talk about it, she should know that you have expenses here too..goodluck and godbless
