  • Our Story
We met in chicago 2002. Juan needed to return to Veracruz for family reasons. We went to an immigration lawyer in chicago and were told that it was best that he not leave the country. That was all he said and charged $250.00. Juan needed to go he hadn't been in veracruz for 6 years. While he was there we decided to do everything the right way. But we are waiting a very long time. In June of 2005 we had acivil ceremony and filed our 1st petition I-130 in July 2005 . We thought it would be faster to then do 129 so we did. We had our interview in cdj feb.2006. 2 weeks bfore our I130 approval came. The interview day was an experience. I guess we were quite naive. Our interview was scheduled for 7:30 am as well as 500 other people. The petitioners were not allowed inside the embassy. I had to wait across the street all day. I waited 8 hours. My husbands visa was denied. We had to get the waiver. 265.00 and 1 extra week in Juarez. The completion of 130 kicked out 129. Now we are waiting for 130. all of our paperwork has been in cdj since may2006, also waiver has been in since feb13,2006. we are waiting & waiting and learning as we go. since then we have had a catholic wedding in veracruz and travelled around mexico trying to make the best of our wait. I am a teacher so I have the time. while in veracruz in July we called cdj and they told us 9-12 months wait from may 06. that is the last info we have.
