October/November 2007 - my husband, our 1 yo (then) daughter, and I visited our relative in the US. We have spent 6 weeks here and we loved it.
December 1st, 2007 - we applied for DV Lottery (the last day we could submit the application for that year if I remember correctly).
May 2008 - we found out we were DV winners and that we were having another baby.
November 2008 - had the interview at the US Embassy in Bucharest, Romania.
January 2009 - we had our second baby. She was born as a US Lawful Permanent Resident (in March 2009 she entered the US with no visa, just birth certificate and passport. Her Green Card didn't cost us anything). If anyone in this situation needs more details, please, feel free to contact us.
March 2009 - we flew back to the US as Permanent Residents.
December 28th, 2015 - we sent the citizenship paperwork.
January 8th - we received the letter from USCIS stating that they had started processing our cases has started.
January 16th - we received the appointment for biometrics (for Jan 27th).
January 19th - we had the biometrics done (the USCIS office didn't ask us why we went early. the only things they wanted to see were the appointment letters and the green cards). We did this because my husband travels a lot for his job and it happened that he was at home so we gave it a try.
As of January 20th we are waiting for news.
May 29th the interview was scheduled for July 6th.
July 6th we passed the interviews.
As of July 15th our cases were approved. We are in line for the Oath Ceremony.
August 2nd 2016 - Oath Ceremony and we are officially American Citizens.
