Was his gun legal? Surely, if it was, he must have had some justification for his actions. Legally held guns are not owned by maniacs who shoot at people for no reason.

Of course, should it be an illegal weapon, he deserves the death penalty, that'll teach him!

On a roll? I've had an epiphany. It's so much easier to express outrage than to contemplate the complex reasons why the world isn't a more pleasant place. All you have to do is to pick your side and chear them on. More guns for those who are right, more death penalty for those who are wrong. What could be simpler?
