Hello:

So get this. We had our AOS interview on August 3rd. The officer was very nice and asked for some paperwork here and there (2006 tax transcripts, marriage certificate, nothing else that I recall). Then she said to my wife  "Let me see your hands". And here I was thinking she was going to provide a free palm reading too (expanded USCIS services... ). She said that they were unable to get a reading of my wife's fingerprints (she had them done twice).

Now the part I do not understand. She had my wife obtain a certificate of good conduct from city hall and told her to COME IN with it (despite the letter that goes with the RFE saying that it could be mailed in) on September 5th (why she cannot just come in with it the next day is beyond me). So given that we have moved to the other coast, she has to FLY OVER to Newark for one day to literally do 10 minutes of paper handing and leave. The officer was also told of our moving and said you could either hand in that paper and get approval (p.s. she said that the case was approved pending this final piece of paper) or she would have to transfer the case and we would have to be interviewed again. So we took the safe route, clenched our teeth, booked our flight, and pray this would be the end of USCIS for 2 years after September 5th.

The things you have to do...
