Original financial documents from joint sponsor needed for consular interview? (London)

Hi! I'm looking for some guidance as I'm seeing contradictory information.

Myself (US citizen, dual UK citizenship, lived in the UK since birth) and my husband (UK citizen) have just completed and uploaded his DS-260, my I-864/supporting docs, and I-864 and financial docs for my Dad (US citizen, lives in the US) who is my husband's joint sponsor.

Under the submission page for my dad's documents it states 'You MUST bring all of your original documents (not a photocopy) to your interview at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate'.

However, here under the Interview Preparation section it states you do not need to bring the Affidavit of Support or financial documents to the Interview.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-10-prepare-for-the-interview.html

I need to be certain which it is, as we are on vacation in the US right now, leaving on Friday, so if we do need original financial documents from my dad (W2, pay stubs etc.) we need to bring them home with us.

Thanks in advance for any help!

There’s a simple ‘rule’ to follow with these I think. If you think it might be needed, bring it. That’s what I did with mine. You’ll never be in trouble for taking too much, but could be if you don’t have the right thing they ask for.

I had original copies of dozens of things and I think 2 were asked for in London. But I was not disappointed to have my ring file with the other 25 things in with me.

it’s highly likely original w2s won’t be needed. But why risk it? Take them to be sure
