hi there,

Has anyone ever been able to send more than USD 50,000 to a Chinese bank account? I thought that it was possible with permission from the chinese bank.

Bank of China said no.

My wife has the chinese bank account and there is no other trustworthy chinese person available to accept USD.

I also have a chinese bank account, but the Bank of China only allows me to send  80,000 yuan/year.

We married in 2011 and lived in USA from 2011 to 2019. Then she had to go stay with her mom in China(COVID).

I retired from my job and moved to China in 2023.

The wife wants to by a house in China right now. There is enough money in the USA but too little in China.

Chinese banks won't give me a home loan because I have no income; 59 years old.

I'm talking to Standard Chartered Bank, but they're being very cagey.
