Hello,

My parents are lawful permanent residents of the USA. They had applied for a re-entry permit last year but haven't received an approval yet.

3rd July 2024: Re entry permit applied
8th July 2024: Notice of Action received
2nd Aug 2024: Appointment for Biometric Submission
15th Oct 2024: Returned to India

Since we haven't received the Re-entry permit yet (USCIS website shows 14 months of processing time) and they will complete 1 year of staying abroad in October, do they need to come back by October to keep their green card valid?

Appreciate your inputs in the matter.

Thanks
