Hello everyone,

I am required by our Visa Interview letter to provide police criminal record checks.

For context I am a dependant of my parents in our application. We applied at the time when I was a minor but now I am 25. We are Chinese citizens, and instructed to go to the Chinese consulate to do our processing.

However, I have lived in Canada since I was 12 and been here ever since then.

I am wondering if I still need to provide a Chinese police record check even though I have never lived in China since I was 12? I have only been to China on occasional visits less than 1 -2 months since I have left.

I know for sure that I'd need to do my Canadian record check, but unsure about whether it's necessary for me to get the Chinese one.

Thanks!
