My visa arrived last week - I'm really pleased at the way things have progressed. Just one possible issue.

At the embasssy interview for my IR1 Visa, the officer asked me if I had any plans for immediate travel. I didn't have plans at the time and answered no.

Since then we have put an offer in on a house in Charlotte and would like to go there to complete the purchase and instruct some work to be carried out whilst it is empty.

Is there anythig to prevent me from travelling on vaccation outside of the US a few days after arriving?

Any advice would be gratefully received...

Thanks,

Barry

with an IR1 visa? No, shouldn't be. Its a multiple entry visa, good til the expiration date they put on it. Shouldn't be a problem at all, unless you decide to travel for more than 6 months er summat.

I can remember going to India only 11 days after I got my employment-based GC (stamp only at that time, plastic not printed yet).

As IR-1/CR-1 is a conditional GC, same applies.

Reba,

No, an IR1 visa is not a multiple-entry visa. It's a one-entry visa.

But, on that one entry, the visa holder becomes an LPR and the endorsement written by the immigration officer turns the visa into a temporary green card - no visa required for re-entry after foreign travel.
