Hi everyone,

My mother's first name on my birth certificate is Ma. Luisa while her legal name on her passport & birth certificate is Marilou. So since she move to the US she  started using her legal name which is Marilou.

*On her filed I-130 for me (Petition to file an alien relative), she indicated Ma. Luisa under the section "other name used."

* She has an "Affidavit to establish single entity of names" issued and notarized in 2014.

May I check if on the following:

1) Is it possible to submit my application already at CEAC first, pending the corrected birth certificate? Is there serious implications in case I submit first without the corrected BC? My concern is because I work overseas and my other documents will expire if I don't submit soon (such as NBI clearance, etc).

2) Do I still need to submit the correction at Local Civil Registrar, even if my mom has the "Affidavit to establish single entity of names?"

3) For those who had a similar experience, how long does the correction at LCR take? Was there a chance  NVC/USEM did not ask for the corrected BC if you have presented an affidavit?

4)  Is it possible to have the birth certificate corrected while overseas? I am currently working in Singapore, can I have the correction done at PH embassy in Singapore?

Thank you very much!
