Russia and Iran already threatened today that if the US attacks again they will respond. It will be interesting to see what happens if Assad uses chemical weapons again - will the US attack again? If so it's going to have to up the ante. How will the Russians/Iranians respond? Until all that goes down I really don't think we should try and predict what is or isn't going to happen. 

I guess yes that could be a goal, that's just a goal that I find pointless. As you said, it doesn't matter what method he uses. It is bordering on (or is already) genocide either way. 

 

I think it doesn't set a very good imagine for America if we are "okay" with it as long as it doesn't involve chemical weapons. If we are consistent in that, great for us, but it reflects poorly in my opinion.
