Hello all. I am not sure if this is the right forum for this. If it's not, I'm sorry and I hope someone can route me in the right direction.

I have 2 general questions.

#1 I've been living in the US as an LPR since December 2011 and I am eligible for applying for citizenship in December 2016. How soon can I apply for citizenship?

#2 My husband is an LPR as of August 2015, would I be able to apply for citizenship for him at the same time as me?

I appreciate all your future assistance.

Thank you again.

1. You can file the application up to 90 days before you hit the 5 year mark. So probably some time in Sep 2015.

2. No. He will qualify to file under the 5-year rule some time around May 2020. He will qualify to file under the 3-year rule when you've been a citizen for 3 years, which may be faster than the 5-year rule if you become a citizen before he's been a permanent resident for 2 years.
