I received my letter for my oath ceremony today and find I've to go to San Antonio for the ceremony. My check-in time is 11:32am. Would anyone be able to tell me (rough approximation is fine) how long the process should take? My husband will be flying in to Austin that morning around 11am and wants to make it to my ceremony. I would really like at least one family member with me, but our kid is taking finals that day and can't go.

Thanks,

Deb

I've attended 2 ceremonies in the last 2 weeks. One in Chicago, the other in NYC.

Chicago one started about 75 minutes late, as inductees and guests were being seated the entire time. How someone shows up an hour late to an Oath Ceremony is beyond me.

However, the one I attended in NYC yesterday was much better as far as the scheduling is concerned. Set for 11am start, they were seating people by 10:35am. Ceremony officially began at 11:42am. At 11:46am they began reciting the oath, and be 11:48am, everyone was naturalized.

So my guess is that if your husband can be inside the building no more than 30 minutes after the time written on your notice, he should have a good chance of being present at the ceremony,

if he is flying in and landing at 11 am and your check in time is 11.32...depending how big is the group, he may make it to the end for picture time mine lasted 3 hours because we have 502 or 505 number of people swearing in. It really depending on location. our is in school so we have people coming and going the whole time
