I filed N-400 at the end of Aug. FP at the end of Sept. Interview will be on 12/12, Boston. I am a little bit worried that they could deny my application since I travel back and forth several times since the end of last year. The longest absence was 171 days. Before these trips I only traveled out of US a several times, each one was about 2wks since 2010. So I only list the recent trips.

recent trips
12/10/2014 - 2/15/2015
3/10/2015 - 8/27/2015 (got questioned by CBP when returned)
10/01/2015 - 11/25/2015 (have booked the ticket)
12/12/2015 - Interview (scheduled)

What causes my concern is that along with taking care of my parents in law in my home country, I also took a part time job there.I honestly told the truth when filing N-400 that I had a part time job abroad. But now I am a little bit worried that it will lead to a denial.

I have been a GC holder for 9 years. I think I can prove my strong ties with the US:

1997: came to US
2002: started to work, and got married
2006: first kid, first house, and GC (EB1A)
2009: second kid
2011: second house, wife became a citizen

Lived in my second house since 2011 (we rented out our first house). My family are still living there, and my wife has a decent job.

So how much chance I can be denied? And what else I can do to lower that chance?

Folks, advice pls ...

Base on what you said, you should have no problem. However, since you states on your application that you have an income from outside the U.S and under Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), you must report this income on your tax return. Be prepared, they would ask you about that.

Good luck.

If the job abroad was in calendar year 2015, you are fine. Just declare it when doing taxes next year.

I mean I didn't have any abroad income last year. I will of course report whatever income I got this year and report it in my next tax return. Is this good enough?
