Hello,

My wife and I applied for a green card using my IL address. Therefore the biometric screening was scheduled on 11/6/15 in IL. However, she is a student in NJ, and it would be preferable to us if she had her screening done in NJ.

Can she just walk in to a NJ Application Support Center office without going through the rescheduling process? If so, can she do this on any date? I understand I do not need to be present, and it would help immensely if she does not have to miss any class to get her biometric screening done.

Should work. Others have reported doing prints at different locations as a "walk in". I would go ASAP in NJ (like tomorrow), so you have time for plan B in Illinois, should it fail.

Well, the notice was mailed to me in IL so at the very least she needs to wait for me to mail her the notice in NJ before going, right? Would a copy of the notice scanned and emailed work?

All they would need from the letter is the barcode, so don't think anyone would notice or care.

I would do scan and email it. Chicago to New York is 3 days by mail. You don't have that time to lose if you need to buy a plane ticket.
