Hello,

I have received request for initial evidence for I-485 asking to "submit all supporting tax documentation submitted to the internal revenue service for the most recent tax year. & Based on the documents submitted with Form I-864 , Affidavit of support, for the petitioner, the income did not meet 125% of the poverty guidelines.

I will just give you my background in short :

1. I became US Citizen in August 2010
2. I got married the same year in January 2010 and once got my Citizenship moved to Canada. I lived in Canada from August 2010 until March 10, 2014 in Canada
3. My Husband now is Canadian citizen, he got an opportunity to work in US and we moved to California March last Year (March 2014). He is been working in US Since.
4. I got my Job In May 2014 - Working since .
5. Finally now we decided to send his Green card application. We submitted that in January 2015, he got his finger prints done last week and we got the letter on Monday, February 16.
6. I kind of know , where i possibly messed up not realizing. My tax in US was last filled in 2011 for 2010 - Since i had only worked half year (my gross income was less than mentioned in Poverty Guideline) which i put in the I-864 (that was the mistake i did) . It was my most recent tax i filed in US. I guess that is the reason they are asking for more details. I already have my current W-2 from last year and my gross income is coming to well over 125% of poverty guideline and Plus my husband works as well in tech company.
7. I have contacted my tax consultant and taking care of other "0" dollar tax return and rest of years right now.
8. I had also enclosed my offer letter from my current Job - my income from current job is well over the Poverty guideline of 125% .
9. My husband is also earning person, i am not sure what is the next steps to ensure he gets his green card.
I would really appreciate your help,
