I wasn't giving the OP advice based on something that I do not know. You told the OP that his petition was going to be denied at the embassy when you don't know for a fact that it was his stepfather who petitioned him. Like the last guy who posted it's possible that he was petitioned by his mother and his stepfather is her joint sponsor and that the OP is confused as to the situation. That is why some people asked the OP what exactly did the NOA say, to be sure. You also CANNOT tell the OP that it is his responsibility to know the ins and outs of his case because he is the intending immigrant. The petitioner is the one who is supposed to be aware of the immigration laws and the petitioner is the one who has to inform the intending immigrant of anything they need to know. You can't expect someone who has never lived in this country how our government or immigration system works.

You think this and you think that.

Based on zero facts, you think OP doesn't know his petitioner and no way would USCIS make a mistake and erroneously approve an I-130.

You think too much. Give advice based on the facts and not how you think things are it should be.

This does not constitute legal advice.
