I was recently asked by the NVC to do an NSW police check, and get a P397A form from my local police station. However, this form no longer exists and when I called the NVC they advised me that I should do the online police check. I asked them where I should send my results and they told me that the results automatically get sent to the consulate, however this isn't the case...you request where the results are sent. When I told the NVC this, they said I should get them sent directly to the consulate in Sydney and told me to look up the address.

Here is why I'm troubled by this....the police check is now electronic, and there is no section in which I can put in my case number. This means that the consulate will simply get an envelope with my police check and finger print check with no explanation what so ever. If I get it sent to my house and then forward it on to the consulate with my barcode cover sheet and a letter, do I open myself up for claims of tampering with my check?

Can anyone shine a light onto this for me, as I have had three different answers so far!

Thanks

Ross
