Thank you so much for the information .My wife received a blue paper saying “new joint sponsor” in a visa interviewon Jan 21st ,2014. I went through all the papers again and again. I found that in the “affidavit of support form i864 , part 5” I counted my wife twice .For that reason , my house hold were four. But in reality my household number is only three; me ,my wife and our daughter. This was an honest mistake.

  1. Can my wife submit a corrected affidavit of support form to the embassy?

During the day of interview, my wife got a blue paper saying “new joint sponsor”. Last year (2013), I was employed fulltime and I have earned above (above 125%) the poverty level . Now , I can see that I am qualified to sponsor my wife just by my self .

  1. So can I sponsor my wife based on last year’s income ?

Thank you so much for your time and I am eagerly waiting to hear from you.

You mentioned the blue paper issued by the USCIS with a note: "new joint sponsor" - what did they mean by that? Did you file the Affidavit of Support, having a joint sponsor earlier and that person was rejected or what?

If you have earned the required minimum income last year, then you might be able to see if you can be her sole sponsor. You'd have to check on that, because I'm not a 100% sure.

You should definitely apply for your daughter to receive the SSN.
