Hello Friends,

I have sent DS-230 with all the necessary documents. I called NVC today and they said that they need original birth certificates of my wife.

We don't have a certificate where her name and her parents name is listed with the date.

So i sent certified copies of the record from hospital where she was born, certified copy of her 10th std certificate

and we made two affidavits one from her mother and one from her uncle certifying her birth, date and name of her parents (sent original to them).

Is this not sufficient or do i need something else, please help.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Puneet, that ought to be sufficient. You probably sent a letter along with that that states that her original birth certificate does not meet the requirements and you are thus sending affidavits from her mother and uncle. Supposedly the mother's affidavit is sufficient by itself, but the other information is helpful. I think you're likely to be OK.

If one is not available from the issuing agency, supposedly the mother's affidavit is enough by itself. But Puneet said they received a birth certificate from the hospital where his wife was born, which sounds like it might be the issuing agency for that locality. India, in particular, is funny about that and the rules appear to vary from locality to locality. I'm just guessing that is where Puneet is from, based on the name and some clues in his writing. :)
