We are planning on getting married on my future spouses next visit to the USA. After the wedding, we will file for the CR1, then wait a few months before leaving the USA (but of course leaving before his I94 expires) We would like to travel around some before heading back to his country to wait for the medical and interview. Bottom line is I would like to spend the least amount of time possible in his country.

We will have an attorney here in the USA whom I assume will get all the paperwork and keep us up to date on the progress of things. I assume the attorney will be getting copies of all the paperwork that we would get back in his country so the attorney could contact us at a moments notice if we need to return to his country. Which we could do with a days notice, might be expensive to buy a last minute ticket, but we would do what we would need to do!

Approximately how long before we would need to be physically in his country after we start the process?
