I emailed US embassy in saudi arabia if they have any advise on how my fiance can borrow his passport from his company, they only said just be sure to have the passport during the interview. No help at all.

I received my reply from the embassy in Riyadh ~ I got the same reply as you did. Not what I was hoping for, but really, what did I expect? Can't blame a girl for trying.

My fiancee is working in Saudi Arabia and she needed her passport to get a visa to meet me in Europe last september. All she did was ask her employer for it, saying she was going on vacation for a week. They handed it over without an issue.

Yes, normally they'll hand over the passport for a vacation without question. I don't think my fiance has any vacation time to use. And I don't know if he can take unpaid time off ~ but that's a good question that I'm going to ask him! The fact that his passport needs renewal in March may be a reason for retrieving it this month without question also... It's a shame that people have to be put in this position... especially after the amount of time that we've waited to get to this point.

your fiance passport should be valid for six month at least by the time of the interview. !!!! should try to renew it immediately

OMGGGGG!!!!! I didn't realize that! And I just found out about the renewal....I hope he can get it back in time ~ interview is in 20 days! ughhh... I don't know how much more stress I can take

Dont worry at least you found out now before the interview. 20 days is good enough but let him get his passport today from his employer.

I researched it if my fiance will filed for lost / stolen passport in saudi arabia, they need to have a police report that there passport is stolen/lost. And also it will not work bcause they know the company has it so they will call and confirm. But one thing my fiance said, his company is very linient in terms of family so i might call his boss for his passport. Gudluck!
