Ok I am back everyone after my long search of finding a co sponsor who qualify. As some of you may remember I had my interview back in September and was sent to find a co sponsor because my spouse's income was insufficient.

Now for my questions regarding the 1-864 and the 1-864A. My co sponsor filed her 2011 taxes jointly along with her spouse. They got 2 dependents. Their income combined is sufficient. On the 1-864 form line 24A and 24B this is where the total comes in for both my friend and her husband..line 23 and 24A is where she put her income and line 24B is where the husband income should be..then the total should be on line 24C. on question 21C is where her husband will be. since he is over 18 and lives in the same household and is on question 21C, there is a foot note that say "OPTIONAL: If you have siblings, parents,or adult children with the same principal residence who are combining their income with yours by submitting Form I-864A, enter the number here"

Is he required to fill out that 1-864A form? Is he supposed to fill out a separate 1-864 form? Will my friend be the one to fill out the 1-864 form including him as a joint tax payer only.

I hope to get the answer to my question. I really tired my best to explain it well enough to get the desired answer. At this point all that was requested from me at the interview was for me to get a co sponsor, have them fill out the original 1-864 form and sign it, submit copies of either their US passport biographic page,or a copy of their birth certificate, Naturalization certificate or green card. Also their taxes for year 2011 only along with their 2011 W2.

Since my co sponsor is a married couple who filed taxes in 2011 jointly we are stuck on this part of the form. We are not sure if they will need to do two 1-864 forms or a 1-864 form filled out by my friend and a 1-864A form filled out by her spouse. Thanks for your help VJ's
