Hello All,

I am a canadian citizen who has been married to an American citizen for a few months. I hoping to get a green card. We submitted the i330 and just got news that it was approved.

Now i'm concerned about the next set of documentation and the consular interview. I had a dui conviction in Canada in October 2009 (yes very very stupid i know). It was prosecuted as a misdemeanor (called a summary offense in Canada). At the time I was charged with other offences (like dangerous driving) but these were all dropped. I was sentenced to the mandatory minimums - a $1000 fine and one year license suspension. I understand that I will have to submit all court records and bring them to the interview. At the time I also saw a therapist who wrote a letter to the court detailing our therapy sessions and the fact that I do not have an alcohol dependency problem. Should I bring a copy of this letter to my interview (it is very detailed and positive)? Is this the type of thing I should consider hiring an attorney for? Any comments/suggestions are welcomed. Thanks!
