Here is an explanation I have put together for my fiance and co-sponser so they can understand.

let me know if i am missing anything.

Putting together I-134 “Affidavit for Support”

After we have sent the I-129F you will need to begin to put together the I-134. It needs to be filled out by you and by a co-sponsor as your current annual salary does not reach 125% above poverty level (around $18,000). This form is used to show that I can be supported if required and that I will not become a public charge by claiming government assistance (claim benefits, food stamps etc) once I move to the US. If I was to become a public charge the US government would be able to sue you the sponsors for the amounts I claimed.

The I-134 will ask the following questions;

• Name, DOB, Place of Birth etc

• Annual Salary

• List of dependents

The I-134 will also ask questions such as the amount you deposit in US Banks, value of personal property, value of stocks & bonds, value of life insurance including cash surrender and value of real estate. As long as our co- sponsor is earning more than $18,000 per year you would not be required to answer those questions. The I-134 will ask if you or the co-sponsor intend to support me, you should not tick the boxes provided and simply put N/A for non applicable.

With the I-134 form you both you and our co-sponsor will need to submit two forms evidence which is the requirement of the London Embassy. This is to prove what you have filled out on the form is true. You should put together;

• Latest "complete" tax return (which means W2 with it) or tax transcript (free from IRS)

• Letter from employer

• Recent pay stubs

Only the most recent tax return is required, but you can order three years at a time for free from the IRS. Tax transcripts are summaries of your whole tax return provided free by the IRS. They can't be faked because it's a copy/summary of your whole tax return picture, basically certified by the IRS because it's issued by them.

Once NOA2 is received is a good time to finalize the I-134 along with the supporting documents and mail it to me. Keep the NOA2 letter safe as it will be needed when I begin “Adjustment of Status”
