I am a HUGE animal lover, and I hate the topic of this thread, too.... but yes, people should know about the HSUS and what it's all about. And it's not very good either...

I don't blame Steven and Jinky for posting that, most people don't know the facts behind the organization, either...

People who join HSUS also get put on PETA's mailing list (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).

If you want to give money to an animal charity and support animal welfare efforts give to your LOCAL Animal Rescue and/or Humane Society. Even such things as used towels, old blankets, office equipment and supplies... anything like that will be appreciated, welcomed and well-received...

Don't waste your money on the HSUS. Support your LOCAL Humane Society. HSUS does NOTHING to support animal welfare locally to your area... and they do very very little with the money they receive to actually help any animal in distress, although they did make sure to make an appearance after Hurrican Katrina, all wearing jackets well labelled HSUS in order to advance their agenda....

If anyone would like to support animal rescues, try local no-kill shelters. They usually take in adoptable animals from the local humane societies and animal control.

Also, in pretty much every state there are breed specific rescues that are always in need of help, with either funds or foster homes or forever homes. You'd be amazed at how many people turn in or abandon Saint Bernards "because he just got bigger than we thought he would"

People are stupid. We should ban stupid people.
