Hi

We originally applied for a K1 Visa, but my business required me to apply for an L1A which we did and I am now working in the USA.

We are getting married in November and I wondered if anyone could tell me what the procedure is for applying for adjustment of status from L1A status.

I am hoping I can obtain work authorisation so that I can supplement my current income with work from an additional employer after we are married.

Any help would be much appreciated.

L-1A is in many ways similar to a H-1B, which is what I am adjusting status from.

You need to file I-130 and I-485 concurrently. I-765 will only be needed if you want to work for two employers while adjusting status. Note that the downside to getting an EAD is that your L-1 will become invalid, so you can no longer travel on it. In that case if you file for EAD, and wish to travel, you will need to file for AP as well.

Good luck!
