What to bring to Medical Exam

Hello all!

My UKC fiance is currently visiting me here in the States using VWP. While he was here we received our NOA2 and sent his Packet 3 forms back to the Embassy in London. He flies out on 1st February, so we booked his medical exam for the 3rd so he doesn't have to make multiple trips to London.

My question is this. When booking his medical over the phone, the operator was rattling off a list of things to bring, all of which were on the website, but she mentioned he would need to bring his Police Certificate with him. This isn't mentioned on the Embassy's website as required documents to bring.

Can you all tell me your recent experience with the Medical Exam and if this indeed required? His police certificate will be in Wales when he arrives back, and he won't have time to go retrieve it if we keep the current medical date.

Also, is anyone aware of how long it is currently taking between Medical Exams to Interview Date?

Thank you!!!

Is there not someone who can FedEx his police certificate either to him in the US or to wherever he's staying in London before the medical?

Just as a personal preference, I'd FedEx it overnight to the US. I'd also ask the medical if it has to be the original or would they accept seeing a copy? Reason being I think the only reason why a police certificate is necessary at the medical, is so they can act as a buffer for people trying to speed up the process and being offered interviews before they have all their documentation. If this is the case, then why wouldn't a photocopy be acceptable? Explain why and that you're worried about placing the original in the mail, considering the delay that will arise if heaven forbid it gets lost.

Also make sure, if they say no to a copy, that whoever mails the original takes a copy first. At least then you can prove you had it, if worst case scenario.

Timeline Summary:

K-1/K-2 NOA1 - POE: 9 February - 9 July 2010

Married: 17 July 2010

AOS mailed - Interview : 22 November 2010 - 10 March 2011

ROC mailed - approved: 14 February - 18 June 2013

Citizenship mailed - ceremony: 9 February - 7 June 2017

It would help if he has his immunization records too. How old is he though, if he's around my age (25) so 20-30, he'd probably have similar immunizations. I know I need an MMR and Tdap boosters, but I'm getting those done on 2nd February at my doctors, they do them at Knightsbridge Doctors, but seem to cost an arm and a leg...

I'll be visiting in the US from 10th-26th February and then having my medical on the 28th, so not looking forward to a jetlagged medical, I just need to make sure it's done though as I'm hoping to fly out for good on 30th June at the latest.
