Hello,

I will be traveling to the DR in the next 30-45days for the interview. Any words of Advice or any stories to share?

What do I need to send my lady now? Or do I bring the paperwork with me? (NOA1 and NOA2, documentation, affidavit of support, etc).

I am hoping the process/interview will be as "painless" as possible and to have her here before Valentines Day.

Thanks.

Im kinda confused. Does she complete these forms or I?

She does. You just need to check them to make sure everything is correct. You need to bring your financial records to the interview and your I-134 (with last 3 years of tax returns, last years W-2s, last 6 paystubs, bank statements, letter from employer that your are employed and how much you make, letter from bank saying how money you deposited in the last 1 year.

Get these things done in the next 3 weeks.

Congratulations! :D

You might want to check www.dominicanstotheusa.com and read the "interview accounts" to get a feel for the consulate process and the kinds of questions they will be likely to ask you. You can actually read the consulate reviews available here (VJ), too.

Please remember to keep us updated on the process and, for sure, let us know how the interview went when it happens!

Best wishes!

I hate to "rain on your parade" about thinking that your interview might take place in a month or so, but based on DR timelines I have seen, it takes more like 3 months to get an interview in Santo Domingo after the case is sent from NVC to the consulate... I certainly hope it does not take that long for your fiancee to interview, but would not be surprised if it takes that long.

Just a quick question:

Sorry for the super-late response.

Marriott Courtyard, Hotel Barcelo Lina, and Apartahotel Jardines del Teatro are 3 closet hotels. My wife and I stayed at Jardines Del Teatro. It's small, very homey and quiet. Its very reasonable and its 1 block from the Consulate. The Marriott Courtyard is 2 blocks away and most people say the its worth staying at. Both have Wi-fi but if you need to print things, the Marriott has a business center.
